The next room I visited was the make up room where Diana Carreiro - international beauty expert - was there sharing her tips and tricks for acheiving her top 5 beauty looks for Fall/Winter.
Her top five picks: Flushed Cheeks, Strong Brows, Metallics, Colourful Eyes and Red Lips.

Diana teaching us the Metallics trend - this time on the eyes on the beautiful Davida a makeup artist and fellow Toronto Beauty Blogger

The final look - sorry it's not a close up, but her eyes really did look outstanding!
I volunteered to go next and try out the colourful eyes trend. I told Diana to do whatever she wanted to do - so she decided hot pink was the way to go!
Thanks Arianne for snapping these shots!
Diana did a great job, it's definitely not something I could replicate myself!
Next up was the Red Lips trend on Arianne aka The Glitter Geek (of course, no one looks better in a bold lip than Arianne!)
Diana decided to do a deep burgundy lip which looked absolutely fabulous!!

Amazing!! Sooo wish I could pull this off!
Next I went to visit the new treatment room! How exciting that Dermalogica will begin offering skin treatments (I don't think this is available to the public, I'll find out and update!)

And the last part of the night was the introduction of Dermalogica's Newest Age Smart Product: Overnight Repair Serum (available October 2011)

This treatment is for mature skin designed to firm the skin and restore its ability to maintain supplements and moisture.

The presentation took us through all the great ingredients contained in the Overnight Repair Serum. Here are a few highlights:

The Overnight Repair Serum is applied at night to freshly cleansed skin. Four to six drops are recommended and can be applied directly to skin or mixed with a Dermalogica nighttime use moisturizer.
I thought this slide was an interesting way to apply the serum while incorporating some at home accupressure:

The idea is to apply the serum to the face and concentrate on the points of the face listed in the diagram above while deeply breathing in and out to calm and relax both the body and mind - a sure fire way to get a good night's sleep!
The serum will retail for $88 for 15 mL and comes in a glass bottle to help preserve the active ingredients.
And since I was at an event filled with other bloggers who don't find it weird to take pictures of yourself, I took advantage and asked Arianne to snap a couple of outfit photos for me:

Skirt: Ann Taylor Factory Lace Crochet Skirt 0P (see previous post on this skirt here)
Shirt: Vero Moda XS
Shoes: Nine West size 7
Purse: Coach
Jewellery and watch: Avon
So there you have it! A really great night at Dermalogica as always! Special thanks to Patricia of Faulhaber PR for the invite (and I'm glad to have finally met you!) and it was nice seeing Emily and Charmaine of Dermalogica again :).
And of course it's always fun running into fellow bloggers such as Arianne (The Glitter Geek), Davida and Meredith (Et Tu And You). And I love meeting new bloggers too! Glad I ran into Tiffany of She's So Savvy :) Hope to see you all at upcoming events soon!
Enter until August 31 midnight!***

Yay! Great post! Your eyes were super amazing...can't get over them.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Love how the eye colour you had 'just happened' to match your business cards...are you sure that wasn't planned??
ReplyDeleteAnd I do believe the future plan is to offer treatments to the public, just not sure of the timeline for it yet
The pink and gold/orange on your eyes look great! You totally rocked that look. Your hair looks cute, too. ;). Sounds like a fun event!
ReplyDeleteHow funny that your eye makeup matches your business card and your outfit. I like the colors used on your eyelids. This sounds like a fun event. Your outfit is cute, Elaine.
ReplyDeleteYour eyes look so gorgeous!! Also loving the colors of your top - so very vibrant and pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow, this event sounds amazing! Do you mind me asking how does one get an invitation? I have never tried Dermalogica and I'm curious. Also, love your outfit - very chic and summery!
ReplyDeletethe pink eye-make matches perfectly with your cute outfit! Thanks for sharing the power-point slides....I might even try that acupuncture points thing when applying my own moisturizers to see if it does anything :)
ReplyDelete@meredith Thanks! You're always so good to me :)
ReplyDelete@apotheKerri Thanks for the update Kerri!
@questforfashionsense.com Dermalogica always has fun and informative events!
@NelahLOL I know Nelah, my friend Arianne was the one that pointed it out! :P
@SewPetiteGal thanks SPG! I know I was so drawn to those colours too!
@Louise @ cosmetic bee Oh Louise, I think you would really enjoy it though the products are not by any means natural...but you would really understand all the products! the first Dermalogica event I went to I found out about on twitter but it was also advertised in LouLou magazine. If you sign up for their newsletter they usually let you know about events. Then when I blogged about the event I was put on the list with their PR group! I'll let you know next time I hear about something!
@OlyviaOh I'm sure it would work with any product or no product at all ;) It's probably more about taking the time out for yourself to relax before going to bed :)
Hmm why do I look stoned in these photos? LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat coverage of the event Elaine. :) Loved it.
Hiiii! Great post - your eyes looked so good that night :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic! I'm in love with your outfit, and your eyes look amazing! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Elaine! I will sign up for the Dermalogica newsletter. (I'm interested in both natural and synthetic products - just so long as it doesn't cause allergic reactions and works well!)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your eyes looked amazing :) There is no way I could pull that off!
ReplyDeleteYour skirt is really cute too!
