Outfit Post To Fill in the Gap

You've probably noticed that this blog has been lacking outfits posts lately! Well there are a few reasons for this.

1. I'm lazy! Although the weather has been warm it's been messy out and it's been dark so I haven't been up to taking outfit photos.

2. We've been renovating. As some of you know we are moving and so we (haha, husband) have been making improvements to our current home before selling. The house has been a complete disaster.  I've actually misplaced 2 of my favorite pair of jeans and at one point the tripod disappeared!

3. I haven't been shopping! That's a good thing right? Except for a pair of shoes I got from Dealuxe and a Roots sweater I got with a gift card (post to come) I don't think I've made any clothing purchases in 2012!  Since I haven't been shopping, my outfits have kind of been on repeat. I still don't have the hang of remixing the same pieces into different outfits and frankly I'm usually running late in the mornings so I just grab what I know works!

So there you have it. I do have a couple of old outfit pictures that I forgot to post so I will use those to fill in the style gap while I wait to get my style groove back on!

Here's an outfit that I actually DIDN'T plan out and just kind of came together (that is sooooo rare for me which is why you will understand even more why the day ended in devastation!)

Tank: Loft XXSP
Cardigan: Gap XS
Skirt: Moon Apparel size 0 (as seen in this post)
Belt: H&M XS
Tights: doubled and unknown.
Just imagine that I'm wearing a pair of black pumps with this outfit :P

This is one of my favorite skirts. It's comfortable, makes me feel pulled together and feminine.

Then it made me cry:

I got myself caught on a door handle while trying to squeeze into the closet.  Seriously.  Who does that?  Me.  Sigh.  I tweeted about this when it happened and some suggested that I take it to a tailor to get it assessed.  For now it's safely packed away for the move. I have so much going on even if I brought it to the tailor I would likely forget it there.  It's been a crazy few months!

In the likely case that this can't be repaired I'm now on the hunt for a similar skirt even though I have the dress version! Or perhaps I can BEG Moon Apparel to bring it back?  I will likely stock up so don't be shy to add inventory.

Please tell me I'm not the only one with clothing disasters such as this!

Congrats on the move, but sorry about your skirt! :-( similar things happen to my clothing with having a 3 year old boy... :-) I love your outfit! That green is one of my favorite colors ever!

Oh dear, I hope you escape the renos with your sanity intact and that you can get the skirt fixed after all. You're in good company - you name it, I've done it...from tripping over my hairdryer cord with an open bottle of liquid foundation I dumped over my top to last week stubbornly plugging in my hair straightener into a converter the sales guy ASSURED me could be used in Europe even though when I opened the package (in Europe) the instructions said otherwise...I fried the motor.

  9. I absolutely hate it when that happens (although it doesn't happen that often). My problem has always been the moth.
You look very lovely and put together in this outfit. I hope you somehow get this skirt fixed or find a sub soon. Also good luck with selling your house and moving. That's huge.

  10. Happy Valentine's Elaine! I'm sure you can stitch the hole together - it probably won't even be that noticeable once it's fixed!

  22. I'm still on the hunt for a reliable tailor. I haven't really done much at a tailor's other than hemming pants, but I'd love to get some items slimmed, and I heard you should avoid using tailors that work within dry cleaning places! Would love to know which tailor you use!

  23. Gah I haven't found one yet! There's one I keep passing by in my neighborhood but luckily I've only had little tweaks or hem jobs so my MIL was doing it for me!

  25. :( That sucks about your skirt!! It was a pretty outfit...especially love the belt.

I have not been following enough this last week, so your move is new to me! How exciting!! Is it a big cross-country move or are you staying near where you currently live?

  28. Hey Michelle! If I remember correctly your doing a big move yourself right? LOL - I'm actually moving just a few houses down :P A larger house came up for a great price so we jumped on the opportunity. It was somewhat unexpected which is why it's been so incredibly hectic!
