FEATURE: Fashion Magazine Beauty Panel Post – 90’s inspired

Posted on May 14, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine

I am a little behind on Fashion Magazine Beauty Panel posts – my apologies! It’s been a challenge to write posts each week for the panel (I have missed quite a few) but also a challenge finding the time lately to write posts for my own blog!

A few weeks ago we were asked to create a 90’s based look since 90’s beauty is big for spring.

When I think about the 90’s I think about “Clueless”, George Michael’s “Freedom 90” with supermodels like Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista and “Friends” namely Jennifer Aniston.

Here is my modernized 90’s look on the Beauty Panel.

I was excited to get to use the Eye Glow Cube from Pixi it contained all these gorgeous shimmery and metallic shades.

I used the copper and brown shades in the palette and instead of lining my eyes with a black liner I used the copper glow silky eye pen from Pixi so the look was still monochromatic (a staple look of the 90’s!). I also used a bronzer (Annabelle Zebra Bronze Powder in Haute Glow) and used it more in the hollows of my cheeks rather than high up on the apples. For lips I lined with a nude lip liner (Avon’s Glimmersticks Lip Liner in Simple Spice) and added a bit of nude gloss (Lancome Juicy Tubes in Hallucination) for dimension as I thought the look was a bit too matte and I wanted it to be an updated version. What did you love (or hate!) about the 90’s? And how would you update the 90’s look?
