Earth Day is just around the corner – April 22nd! To celebrate I wanted to share with you some of the brands holding great Earth Day initiatives 
At Eminence Organics, everyday is Earth Day but for everyone new “like” on their facebook page they will plant a tree by Earth Day – their goal is to plant 5,000 more trees – what an easy way to help out!

The Aveda Walk for Water is a series of walks around the world taking place during the week of April 22nd. These walks extend an average of 6 km which is symbolic of the average distance women in developing countries walk each day to collect water for their families. Also happening on April 22nd is Appointments for the Earth. Aveda Canada will participate in a global Cut-A-Thon to raise funds for Earth month and to attempt a Guinness World Record for the most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24hr period. Ray Civello, Aveda Canada President, CEO and International hairstylist will be kicking off the event at 1pm at the Civello Salon & Spa Queen Street West location. You can also purchase Aveda’s 2013 Light The Way Earth Month Candle which is sold exclusively during Earth Month featuring a new Madagascar inspired aroma blended with 100% certified organic essential oils – vanilla, cinnamon and ylang-ylang. Each candle is $13 and 100% of the purchase price will be donated to Global Greengrants Fund.
Garnier Canada is joining forces again this year with Walmart, Terracycle and Evergreen Canada.
Terracyle’s Beauty Brigade is a waste management program aimed to ensure that the life of beauty products is not over once the bottle is empty.
To participate in the Beauty Brigade simple sign up at Terracyle, and download a postage label. Once you have collected enough packaging to fill a collection box you can ship out your package for free via UPS.
Also for every Garnier product sold at Walmart in April, Garnier will donate $0.25 to Evergreen Canada to create more environmentally sustainable cities.

Also in support of Evergreen and in honour of Earth Day 100% of the net proceeds of the Limited Edition Label Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream will go towards the cause. Alanis Morissette has collaborated with Kiehl’s Canada for this initiative.
