Have you heard of Korean cosmetics brand Holika Holika? I hadn’t heard of them until I received an invite to check out their recently opened downtown location near the corner of Queen and John.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Holika Holika Canada as I’m not actually very familiar with any Korean brands. I brought my friend L with me and by co-incidence she is Korean and loves beauty products so it worked out well as she was able to help explain some of the products to me.
It’s definitely a cute and bright store with so many things to test out and play with.
Just check out some the lip product section alone! This lipstick caught my eye – I’m not sure how I would actually apply it but it’s definitely adorable!
Heart shaped lipstick! How can you not resist? I’d love to pick this up for my niece when she is old enough to wear lipstick 
And never mind the other makeup sections – check out this blush for the cat ladies:
Of course when you think about Korean beauty products you think about BB creams and Holika Holika Canada has you covered there!
This was actually only one row in the store of BB creams and you can see how there is a huge variety available. It’s definitely worth spending some time reading up on them all and testing them out in store if you get the chance.
The different take on marketing and branding had L and I giggling a lot too!
Check out the hilarious Pig Nose Clear line. I’ll have to go back next time to take a closer look!
There were definitely some strange and unfamiliar products that caught my eye including a strange line called “Prime Youth Placenta”
Pictured above is the cleanser…and I’m still unsure if this product contains actual placenta or not as I believe the key ingredient is extracted from the soybean. If anyone can help me out with this, let me know! I’m all for trying out new products but this one sounds so weird to me!
Another strange product…
The “Prime Youth Snail” line which contains snail mucin….my friend L told me it’s the slime that snails leave behind and it’s known to help skin restore itself. I’m not sure if this stuff is for me…would you be brave enough to try it out?
Another product you think about when you hear “Korean beauty” is sheet masks and Holika Holika Canada had an entire wall full of them starting for as little at $2.
This store is a definitely must see whether you’re a fan of Korean beauty products or if you’re unfamiliar with them like me! It’s such a sight to see all the different types of products, ingredients used and packaging. It’s definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon

This is so cool, a lot of people I know order asian brands online. It’s so nice that there is a physical location people can go to and try out these products! I don’t know if I could use a placenta face wash but to each either own
LOL I know, if I was guaranteed it would work I might give it a try but I think I might cringe every time I used it
I’m totally curious about Asian skin care and makeup as many brands have the reputation of being high quality and amazing for the skin…I might even try the snail and placenta stuff if it would really work LOL!
Next time we’re downtown we’ll stop by the store together ! ha and yeah I’m tempted to check out those products too…if they work then sure why not
