Benefit Cosmetics Tinted Lip Balms Review

Posted on June 9, 2014March 30, 2020 by Elaine

Tinted lip balms are a Summer STAPLE in my opinion! I’ve been trying out these new ones from Benefit Cosmetics and I’m in love. If you’re a fan of Benefit then you’ll know about their iconic lip and cheek stains. These tinted balms are the “little sister” to each of the shades.

In the summer you want to lighten up your makeup routine over all. Nothing is worse than having heavy and sticky lips when it’s humid out! I don’t like to forgo colour all together though, which makes these perfect for the warm weather.

These hydrating tinted lip balms ($22 CDN) give just a hint of colour and are so comfortable to wear all day long.

You can see in the swatches above just how pretty, sheer and slightly glossy they are but they definitely add a subtle colour. Personally I find they kind of enhance my natural lip colour so it looks like I’m not wearing anything but my lips still look “naturally done” while healthy and hydrated.

I just wear these on their own but if you want a bolder colour with the hydration benefit try layering these on top of benefit lip tint or another lip stain. The tint will stain your lips for all day colour and the tinted lip balm will keep your lips moisturized and glossy.

I have to admit that I’m a sucker for the pretty packaging too! I know $22 is a bit pricey for a balm with just a hint of colour, but these balms contain mango butter so your lips will also stay healthy all summer.

I’m always really impressed with Benefit Cosmetics products – and not just for the cute marketing and branding 😉 I find most of their products really deliver and in my opinion that makes it worth spending the money.

What are your favourite tinted lip balms?

I totally want to try these. I am obsessed with lip balms and am always on the hunt for new faves. The cute packaging doesn’t hurt either.

I tried Lollibalm the other day and the feel of the balm is exactly like Baby Lips…I love the packaging and the texture, the smell, everything but I don’t think I can spend $22 on lip balm when the colour is very sheer. I heard that the BeneBalm is great though! If I get enough Shoppers Optimum points, I will probably get it, lol!

I am not even going to lie. I really didn’t think I would like these and then I picked up the Beneblam one and I loved it. Now I want them all, which is pretty much the story of my life!

Haaa! I TOTALLY know what you mean! At first I figured I wouldn’t enjoy them since they were so sheer but they really make a difference! And I love that I don’t have to take time out for the “perfect” lip 😛

I was the same. The sheerness really put me off when they were announced. Then I tested one and they are so hydrating. Now I can’t go anywhere without it. It’s like your lips, but better! Comes in so handy after a day of swatching lip products.
