NEWLY ACQUIRED: Express Faux Leather Jacket

As I mentioned before, Express is kind of a one stop shop! Casual, work and party wear all in one place. But since it’s the holidays,  it’s kind of fun to dress up The Express holiday catalog is a great inspiration for that perfect party look.

For me, party pieces aren’t usually what draws me since my lifestyle leans more to the casual side My latest purchase from Express was a faux leather jacket which I gave you a sneak peak of in my grand opening post. The one I was wearing a size small but a kind SA was able to scrounge the back and find me an XS so thank goodness I didn’t have to take it to another store to exchange.
I really love this jacket – it’s perfect to wear with simple jeans and a t-shirt.

But what about using the jacket to “toughen” up a really feminine skirt like one of my favourites – my H&M lace skirt.

I could also probably wear the jacket open more like a blazer – perhaps over a sequined tank top for the holidays? All the parties I have to go to now are a little more casual so I’m thinking jeans and a sequined tank paired with this jacket will suit my style

If I were wearing this out I’d definitely dress it up with some accessories and a great clutch. Apologies that I don’t have a “real” outfit post for you – I took these pictures before leaving on vacation as I KNEW December would be a really hectic month!

I’m almost done my Christmas shopping (I thought I was done but as always there are last minute items I need to pick up!) but I was browsing online and was checking out the Express gift guide for some great ideas! I’m especially loving all the red items like the silcone watch, leather bracelet, and bag.
