Caryl Baker has always been a standout when it comes to makeup products. I’ve always found that their collection pieces have the quality and consistency one looks for in a makeup brand. Personally, I’ve found the best value of their products comes from their collection pieces (i.e. limited editions, holiday gifts, etc). As always, their 2012 Holiday Limited Edition Colour Collection captures the best of the brand!

What I love the most about this collection is that you get to choose which type / colour of lip gloss and winter sparklers you want. That way, every collection you receive is customized to you (or the gift receiver).
I was lucky enough to try a neutral / copper-based colour choice. These are the colours I’ll be showcasing below.

Winter Sparklers: A loose eyeshadow powder. What I love about these ‘Winter Sparklers‘ is that they are multipurpose. They are good for adding a touch of sparkle to any face, shoulder or body. They are pigmented enough to be used as eyeshadows or eyeliners, but can be used delicately as a highlighters of the face or shoulder area. I was lucky enough to try out ‘Heart of Gold’ – a coppery based colour that is perfect for the winter months. This is my favourite piece of the collection! Retails individually for $17.50 and is available in three different shades.

Lip-Lites Gloss: Ultra shiny gloss that provides a ‘wet’ look. What I love about these are the fact that they are all neutral shades (and neutral colours for lips are a favourite of mine!). As well, all the colours are infused with light glittery sparkles. The Lip-Lites collection are also created with ‘Mica’ – a protect that both nourishes and protects the lips. I was lucky enough to try out the ‘Sheer Gold’ colour – a perfect neutral colour for any skin-tone. Be forewarned though – super sticky! Retails individually for for $19.50, and available in three different shades.

Golden Glowy Skin Powder: Is a light bronzer. What I love about this piece is that it suits all skin tones – the product is a blend of gold, bronze and peach colours that create a colour that is suitable for all. Each compact will be unique because of the ‘baking process’ that Visage uses to create the tiles. I like that it provides a hint of summery colour in the winter months, that is not overpowering or fake. Depending on your preference, the colour can be sheer or heavy in nature. Retails individually for $32.50.

The 2012 Holiday Lights Collection includes all of the above, and retails at a bargain price of $62.50. Overall, it provides a savings of over $20.00! Again, each pack can be personally customized to you as you get to choose your own lipgloss and shimmer powder. As well, each collection is contained within a shiny makeup clutch that can be reused for any purpose. It can be purchased online, or in any Caryl Baker Visage retail store.
