Did you know that in Canada about 1 in 7 children live in poverty and are at risk to starting their day on an empty stomach?
This hits home for me as someone in close to me (I will not disclose who) grew up in this manner and I can’t even begin to imagine what that would be like for a little kid. How can a kid even begin to get an education and make life better for themselves on an empty stomach?
NIVEA Canada is proud to partner up with Breakfast Club of Canada by donating $25,000 to the organization this year.
This donation will help Breakfast Club of Canada to ensure that all Canadian children – particular those who come from less fortunate families and have a greater need – to start their day with a nutritious breakfast in an environment that fosters self-esteem.
Nivea’s donation translates into helping to feed 130,000 Canadian children.
I love that Nivea is helping out with this cause. I don’t have any children but I can’t even imagine how hard it must be for a child to not have enough food.
