The Bachelor Canada media brunch

Posted on October 19, 2012 by Elaine

As a blogger that has a full time job not in the city there are a lot of events I have to turn down (yeah, yeah I know, first world blogger problems right? 😉 ). Luckily my friend Oliva was willing to attend The Bachelor Canada media brunch presented by Rimmel on my behalf. So, here is Oliva’s very first guest post!

*****

A couple weeks ago I had the chance to attend The Bachelor Canada media brunch that was hosted by Rimmelat The Windsor Arms. We got to meet Canada’s first ever bachelor, Brad Smith where he shared insights about his experience filming the reality show.
Some tidbits that were shared:

We had a panel of beauty experts from The Kit and Rimmel so it was natural for the conversation to gravitate to makeup and his choice for best and worst.  The prize for the bachelorette with the best makeup went to Sandy (from Wetaskiwin, AB), who coincidentally is a professional makeup artist. The worst makeup goes to Rebecca “Bubba” who is a real estate agent from Toronto.

His stance on lipstick versus lip gloss; Brad is indifferent. He prefers the understated look but feels that you can’t get away from the mess from either choice.

The rose ceremony took 14 hours to film and ended at 9 am. Wow.

Brad has a stylist who advises him on clothing choices but the women style themselves.

There was an awkward shower scene where the person shooting the footage told Brad to lather slowly. LOL.

I thought that Brad was a sweet guy. He came off as authentic and caring. He went on the show for the experience and to hopefully find the one.  At this point I am rooting for Ana, Bianka, Chantelle, Kara and the feisty Gabrielle.  This will obviously change as I watch the show. Unfortunately, Brad did not give us a hint whether he found the one.  I guess we all just have to wait to find out!
Here are some pics from the event:

Editor’s note: I asked Oliva what she was wearing because she always looks so cute:

My dress and tights are both from Forever 21, shoes are from Payless and the pearls are from my mom, Belinda De Leon Designs.

Who do you think Brad will end up with?

Thank you so much Oliva for attending for me, I really appreciate it and how amazing that you got to meet Brad! I always see him on Breakfast Television and he seems really down to earth 🙂

Be sure to catch up with Oliva at all three (I think there’s even more!) of her sites:
