Vichy Skin Health Centre

Posted on June 22, 2012 by Elaine

On the last weekend of Luminato I hung out at the Vichy Skin Health Care Tent and received my personalized Skin Diagnosis.

The first step in the diagnosis was taking a (scary) UV picture which shows you any sun damage beneath your skin. Luckily my picture showed that I don’t have too much damage in the deeper layers of my skin so that was a relief.

UV photo on the right. Darker areas will show sun damage. My picture was somewhat even overall.

As you may know my skin has been such a battle for me for over a year now. Inexplicable breakouts that I can’t seem to get under control – sigh!

So this skin diagnosis was great for me! First Ashley of Vichy took me through a questionnaire addressing my skin concerns, age group, my skin type, how sensitive my skin is and how often I experience breakouts.

Afterwards she tested my skin hydration with this moisture analyzer gadget thing and checked to see what my skin type really was by using sebum patches. The results were not pretty – as I suspected I was dehydrated and indeed oily. The worse part was that my skin is only holding 34% moisture – ack! Normal levels should be above 40%!

The last part of the diagnostic was the observation part and then the fun part came – product recommendations!

Since my skin is oily and acne-prone Ashley recommended a bunch of products from the NORMADERM line.

I’m looking forward to trying out these products but have to admit that I’m also scared! My skin has been so finicky lately I’m worried that I’ll have a reaction (and not due to the fault of the products – there’s definitely something going on with me!). I hope to report back good news to you once I’ve given the products a try.

If you’d like to get your own personal skin diagnosis you can test out your sebum and hydration levels at any drug stores that carry Vichy – all you have to do is ask!

Thanks very much Vichy, I had a blast!

Leesh, that UV photo was scary to take LOL! I was worried about how it would turn out!

That UV photo is cool. I wish I could do it. My skin must be so damaged with all the sun worshiping I have done. Shame on me!

Kate, check Shoppers Drug Mart – you should be able to get the skin diagnosis done minus the UV photo. Let me know!

Until now, I thought oily skin was hydrated and dry skin was dehydrated!! Im going to check out at my drug store if they carry Vichy and if they can do the test for me.
