Review: Kaia Naturals Facial Cleansing Cloths

Posted on January 10, 2012 by Elaine
Normally I don’t like to use cleansing cloths.  I think they’re great for quick and easy removal of make up but I usually reserve them for travel or when I’m not wearing much and I just want to start with a clean face quickly.  I usually find them drying and I still have to use eye make up remover first.
I was sent Kaia Naturals Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths to test out. I had meant to try them out over the holidays but I always forgot as I already have a night time routine. The other day however I was so tired I just wanted to crash and I remembered that I had these so I grabbed them.

My first thought was that they were small!  Each cloth is about 9.5×16 cm – much smaller than most facial cloths I’ve tried.
I have to admit though, I was quite impressed with how well these removed my make up! It obviously took a few wipes to get all make up off but eventually I was left with a clean face!
Not only was my face clean, but it wasn’t dry, it actually felt soft and smooth. Now remember I mentioned that I was just so tired I wanted to get to bed ASAP? I didn’t even put on any moisturizer but yet the next morning my skin still felt fresh, not dry and it wasn’t flaky in the areas that normally are.
Sorry, I can’t show you a before an after, I’m not comfortable going make up-less and I do want to keep readers and not scare anyone away LOL!  But I found this video on the company’s site and it shows many before and afters and also gives more product information.
The product claims to be a 4-in-1 product: Cleanser, toner, eye makeup remover and cleansing cloth.  It also claims to be gentle.  I have to agree with this, I have the tendency to always get mystery cuts on my hands that sting when I wash them but these cloths didn’t hurt at all!  I also love that they were designed in Canada and made in the United States.  They are also 100% biodegradable.
They are available online and in retail locations in Canada and the US.
Check out where to purchase them here.
They seem to be available at many retail locations so I’m definitely going to pick more of these up! I just might be a facial cloth convert!

What’s your face cleansing routine, do you use cleansing cloths?

I heard about these kaia cleansing cloths from the owner of Consonant Body. He said that he gave singles as stock stuffers. I was totally intrigued. And now I just opened my Glymm box and there is a sample of it. I can’t wait to test it out because I am so lazy to wash my face and cleansing cloths are a god-send.

Oh oops I was actually referring to the Olay cleansing system which is simliar to the Clarisonic. I like it so far though and will be posting a review on it soon. Come check out my blog! 🙂

Oh no, really? It does have a smell but I wouldn’t describe it as perfumey but more fruity and slightly citrusy?

Thanks for the review! Can you please tell me if this has a strong smell? Most of the wipes that I have used have this strong perfumy smell which gives me a bad bad headache!

Yeah they always dry out my face and my skin is oily. Do the Olay ones dry you out?

These are honestly so good, I’m not a fan of facial cloths in general but was really impressed with these!

Ahh you’re right, they’re definitely more expensive than a cleanser! I would probably use these more for travel or just alternate these into my routine.

I like cleansing cloths for when I am traveling but sometimes they dry out my face. I will need to give these a try! I have been using the Olay pro x cleansing system so far and love it! Thanks for the review!

I haven’t tried these before but I do use a mask once a month and it acts like a cloth cleanse too, not sure of the brand because my aunt brought it back from Vietnam but it works OK.

I’ve always been leery of how effective facial cleansing towelettes are! I think this would be a great product for an overnight flight 🙂
