IMATS 2011: the Blogger Lounge

Posted on November 29, 2011 by Elaine

As mentioned in my previous IMATS posts (here and here) this was my first time at IMATS and I was very excited to be invited to the Royal & Langnickel blogger lounge which was located above all the chaos of IMATS below.  It was a nice little get away from the crowds and I got to hang out and meet some fellow bloggers!

Royal & Langnickel for those of you that aren’t familiar (don’t worry, I’m not familiar with them either!) specializes in brushes, both art brushes and beauty brushes!  Their booth was also buzzing at IMATS.  There was a model in the middle of the booth getting all done up – everything is hand done using Royal & Langnickel brushes, no air brushing!

^she started at 9am – at this point it was probably around noon^
The blogger lounge was super relaxing, we could even get mini manicures and hand massages done courtesy of Wright Spa!

Royal Langnickel took us through their brush sets which were oh so soft and available in different colours.  Nancy was eying the pink set!  Royal & Langnickel was kind enough to provide me with the Silk Pro Green Line set which is soooo soft to the touch!  I’m definitely better equipped in terms of brushes now than I was a few months ago!

What was pretty cool about their brushes too is that when you purchase an individual brush, many of them will come with a QR code on the package that you can scan with your smart phone and it will take you right to a video on how to use the brush!!  That is EXACTLY what someone like me needs!
Here’s another view of the crowd, can you spy Fiona Man in the sea of people?

And here’s a final picture of me with the Royal & Langnickel model as she was taking a break.

 My outfit:
dress: Banana Republic 00P purchased through Extra Petite’s blog sale
Blazer: H&M size 4
Thank you so much Royal & Langnickel for inviting me up to the blogger lounge 🙂 It gave me my “second wind” to battle the crowds down below 😉
So that’s my IMATS 2011 Toronto wrap up!  I can’t wait to go again next year!

Hi there! I couldn’t remember the prices but according to Jessica of Beautezine the Greenline brush set is valued at $119 and was being sold for $50 at IMATS: http://www.beautezine.com/royal-langnickel-silk-green-line-brush-kit-review-giveaway/

Hey SPG, thanks!!! Since my hair is naturally curly I will always stick to that – I’m just too lazy to straighten it all the time LOL! Luckily I like how it looks curly, the only problem is that I have to wash it more often when it’s curly b/c it gets frizzy :(. When my hair is straight I can leave it for a few days so even though I’m applying heat to it technically it’s better for my hair (and the colour) to not wash it as often!

Thanks Marion! Actually there weren’t any samples to be given out surprisingly! But you could definitely try stuff out while you were there. I know, I can’t believe how long that model stood there for, and she probably couldn’t even sit down since it would ruin the makeup job!

Thanks for the compliment about the blazer – it’s my new favorite!

So cool that you got VIP Blogger treatment! That teal blazer looks great on you. Now that you’ve experienced curly and straight hair, which do you prefer for the long term?

Looks like such a fun event Elaine! I’m guessing you picked up a few samples while you were there? 🙂
Um, and I don’t think I would have the patience to stand for so many hours to get airbrushed. I’d prob last about 30 minutes max!
    XO – Marion
PS – the color of that blazer is amazing on you! Gorgeous…:-)
