Go see Something Borrowed!

Posted on May 9, 2011 by Elaine

So…I’m sick 🙁  If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know that I’ve been sick since Friday and have been pretty much MIA.

Before I got sick I did get to attend the screening of Something Borrowed thanks to tickets won from Beauty Crazed (thanks again Lisamarie!).

It was a really great night, Meredith from Et Tu and You was my date and we met up with Lisamarie and her lovely husband.

We also ran into Fiona of  Product Wars who ended up sitting with us!  I even won a raffle prize from Almay 🙂

The movie was GREAT, I LOVED it!  I’m a big fan of the book which I read YEARS ago and re-read a couple weeks ago to refresh my memory.

A special treat was that one of the stars of the movie Colin Egglesfield actually watched the movie with us!  Check out Lisamarie’s post where she got to meet him the next day.  Kate Hudson was fantastic without stealing the show from Ginnifer Goodwin and of course I have to say that Colin Egglesfield was the perfect Dex.  By far my favorite was the character of Ethan played by John Krasinski

And here is the obligatory stalker photo I asked Fiona to take for me 😛

I was planning on seeing the movie again this week but I’m still sick 🙁 So hopefully I’ll get to see it next week!
Have you seen it yet? Are you going to see it?  Did you love it or hate it?

Edit:  Don’t leave the theatre right away…Stay until AFTER the credits!!!  😉

I’m so out of the loop with movies. I haven’t seen this one yet. Sounds like you really liked it, so I might have to check it out! 🙂

I’m not a chick flick fan but I’ll have to look into the book.

And to answer your question the virtual child program does go until the child is 18 years old.

Oh goodness, I can’t believe you were knocked out the whole weekend by this sickness. I hope things are on the up and up today.

I’m glad to hear that this movie is good, because you never can tell from the previews. Even so, I will probably wait until it is available to rent before I watch it. This would actually be a good movie to watch if I was sick at home 😐

Colin Egglesfield is definitely the perfect Dex. When I first watched the trailer, I couldn’t be more pleased with the cast. I was surprised that they made Ethan a larger part in the movie than in the book, but he was definitely the comic relief (which my boyfriend, who I dragged with me to see it, appreciated).

Hope you get well soon!! It always sucks to be sick – but it is especially annoying when it’s spring / summer. I’ll have to check this movie out!

Elaine, I’m going to see something borrowed on Friday and am so excited! (seeing as though the last movie I saw in the theater was sex in the city- the 1st one!) I was really hesitant when I found out that Kate would be playing the role of Darcy but loving that John krakinski is playing Ethan. The books are awesome- I wonder if something blue will be turned into a movie? Thanks so much for the post. Feel better soon, ‘Kay?
