Take me to Ibiza!

Posted on May 4, 2011March 30, 2020 by Elaine

With mark. that is!!  Now I’m not much of a traveller – not because I don’t WANT to travel but it’s partly due to lack of funds, lack of time and my need to make sure I’m not going to hate the place I’m visiting LOL!  Nothing is worse than having a bad vacation am I right?

The new Ibiza collection by mark intrigued me and when I googled Ibiza Spain I quickly found out it was named “undisputed party capital of the world“.  So…Ibiza is definitely NOT for me :P.

There are a few items I tried from the Limited Edition Ibiza set:

mark Ibiza Sol Instant Vacation Fragrance

I usually like mark Fragrances but I have to admit, this one gave me a headache 🙁 It sounded promising – “notes of honeysuckle, pear, white geranium and musk” but every time a take a whiff I feel a tinge of a headache coming on.

I had better luck with the makeup:

Ibiza Sol marbleized eye shadow stick in Aqua Deep

I blended this stick all over my lid then used a darker shadow in my crease and in the outer corner.

This shadow stick surprisingly didn’t crease on me.  Although, note that I DID use an eye primer.

Here is the lip gloss:

^it looks kind of peachy on my hand^

gloss on lips
This is how it looked on my lips – weird huh?
My lips are pretty pink on their own though, so this could be the reason for the colour looking so different.  Either way, I really like this gloss.  I’ve actually been wearing it everyday on its own or layered over a soft pink lipstick.

Also tried out the illuminating powder:

Here’s the brush that it comes with.

I never use these brushes.  I find they pick up too much powder and kind of “cut” the pan and they don’t distribute the colour properly onto my cheeks.  I just opted for my regular blush brush for application.

Swatches of the three colours individually

IMG_1885
All blended together – not sure if you can make it out but there is a subtle shimmery “glow”

Here’s the colour on my cheeks

I actually liked how this turned out.  I’m not really a bronzer type of girl, but this one I liked.  At first I was worried that it would be too shimmery for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.

And the overall look

Have you tried any of these products out before?  What did you think?  Have you ever been to Ibiza?

I just discovered your blog through A Fine Balance and am now following. I experiment more with clothes than makeup so I’m hoping to pick up some tips! And I’ve learned what modal is – one of those things I always wondered about.

    @Elle
Thanks Elle! I love playing with makeup – experimenting is fun and fairly inexpensive compared to our clothes shopping habits LOL!

@CeeThanks Cee! I’ll be doing an outfit post featuring that necklace soon 😉

@SewPetiteGal Thanks SPG! I wish I could do makeup tutorials but it’s sooo hard to take pictures of makeup (for me anyway) and there’s NO WAY I’m doing a video 😛

@aki!Thanks so much for your comment! Ummm yeah, Ibiza totally not for me 😛

@theresa It’s really, really pretty! Let me know if you pick up and tell me what you think!

@The Little Dust Princess I think the lip colour would look really pretty on you Jessy 🙂

All of these products look pretty great. That stick is a rather interesting product.

But, I’m sure I wouldn’t want to go to Ibiza either.

I LOVE that gloss on you – it is such a perfectly pink color! Also did a wonderful job with your eyes (I’m so clueless about makeup application!)!

Makeup is the bane of my existence. I don’t have to be a fan to comment on the pretty colors and pictures, right? 🙂 I think the blue eyeshadow looks gorgeous on you — especially paired with that necklace!

Thanks for the super thorough review!

I really want to try the powder now…but I guess I should hold off on buying more makeup because I so rarely wear it. I’ll be living vicariously through you. 🙂

p.s. I really like blue eye stuff on you!
