I still haven’t stepped into a mall to shop for a while. I’m not sure what it is, I think that maybe I’m still generally really bundled up and have no desire to sift through racks of clothes never mind try stuff on. Let’s see how I feel when the weather gets nicer and lighter clothes can be worn!
Here are a few items I picked up from the Gap – I broke it up into 2 parts as I didn’t want this post to be super long. I will need everyone’s advice whether to keep or return.
Here’s how it looks on me:
A little boxy and shapeless?
Here is is belted:
A little better?
And now tucked:
Next item
And on me:
I really like the ruffles on the back:
There’s no closure or button in the front so I tried it belted…
But it looks funny from the back.
It would be nice if it had a button or a hook right about here:
Keep or return?
I love the first top, and think it looks fantastic tucked in, but I do think it looks too big for you otherwise, so I voted return. Same with the cardigan, even though it’s super cute. If you do however, add a hook or button, (which would be easy to do) I’d change my vote to keep. I think the cute ruffle detail is adorable. LOL I can see how you’re not sure!
BTW, I love the idea of polls! I should add those to my posts too!
Well, I loved the cardi so much that I went straight to the gap website and bought one myself (clearly adore it)!! I like the detail on the first top, but it will def have to be altered down and shortened for versatility.
love the looks!

I’m big on blousy tops for spring, so my vote is Keep on the blouse – if it fits you well in the shoulders, I think it would look great tucked into a high-waisted skirt for spring/summer or a pencil skirt.
I like it! keep! Especially once its tucked in

HI, I like both tops on you and I like most of the ways that you styled them. I even like the ruffle top untucked/unbelted for casual days…It would look pretty with one of the new pale colored skirts and nude pumps!
The ruffle top was cute once you belted it and also tucked it in. I LOVE your skinny white belt!!!
As for the cardigan, I like the color a lot and the back ruffles are cute. You just can’t belt it, that’s all. Maybe you could use a flower pin or some cute brooch and just pin it together? Might be cute.

I voted! Kind of a neat idea… maybe I should do it for my review posts since I’m so indecisive most of the time! Personally I would return the top, and might consider keeping the cardigan if it’s priced right and if I don’t already have something in that color.
I think the ruffle top would look cute if you wore slim shorts with it in summer to balance out the looseness of it. But other than that, I don’t love the shape of it.
I do really like the cardi and think it looks great on you. I think you can buy those little hooks or snaps very cheap and it’s not that hard to sew them in. (Although I wouldn’t know… I always wait till I have a trip planned to Michigan to ask my mom to do it!)
@Doris
Hi Doris, thanks for the comments on the pctures, I WAS playing a bit around with camera settings but I started using flickr and it seems the picture quality is better
Thanks ladies, keep the feed back coming, this is what I need!
I like the first top when tucked in. It looks kind of big on you though. The open cardi would bother me. I tried it in store a few weeks ago but didn’t like it very much. Although the color is lovely for spring. If you don’t love them, I’ll say you shouldn’t keep them.
I like the details of the 1st top but I feel like it’s way too big for you – it looks best tucked but I feel like that limits it too much. I like the cardi a lot! You can just sew in a hook and eye – very easy – just like sewing a button
The top is cute tucked in, but otherwise, it’s shapeless and I say you should return it. : )

I like the ruffle top (love anything ruffly) but it’s too big and hides ur figure
I vote return on that. And the Gap cardi- I like it on you and the detail in the back- darling!
I like the ruffle top tucked and belted, too. It looked like it worked.
elaine– they’re both cute. the first top is boxy, but i like it that way. i like boxy tops with jeggings! it is cute belted and tucked in too. definite keeper.
I would totally keep both! The top looks very dainty and girly on you, and it looks even better belted and tucked in. The cardi is too cute…I like it belted anyway…and maybe you can find someone that sews that can add a quick little button or hook on it?
I love that top both belted and tucked in on you! I think I have the same cardi in black and I am keeping it!

the first one is definitely too large on you =(
and the second one is really cute but how annoying is not having a closure!? i think the belting idea looked really amazing from the front but the back .. it clashed with the ruffles
p.s. nice pictures! theyre so super crisp, bright and the colors really popped. great job!
I like your creativity, both items look really good with belt but I won’t keep them. The first blouse seems big and its fabric is too sheer for my liking. The cardigan is nice but you will be able to find a better choice later on this Spring.
The first top definitely looks the best tucked in. I’d probably return since it’s not too versatile. I like the second cardi belted, unbelted, and in every which way. Keep!
I said keep for both, but if I had to choose one over the other I would say the keep the cardigan. I’m sure you could sew a little button on there and somehow make it work. I also don’t think it looks that bad belted. I’m excited for Gap purchase #2. I love the Gap!
The peach ruffle top does look big but I really like it tucked and belted! Too bad on the cardigan, it looks great belted in the front but way bunchy in the back.
I think you should keep the cardigan and add a hook right in the middle just like you said. I love the detail in the back too! =)
The first one is so cute in the stock photo but is just much too big on you Elaine.
It’s a really lovely color on you though.
