The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Posted on March 2, 2016March 30, 2020 by Joanna

Today I need to share with you one of my new-found personal favorite products on the market right now. It is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation! Not only does a little go a long way, it gives extremely good coverage without making me look like I am made of clay.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, dewy skin, natural skin, oil-free foundation

Alright, let’s backtrack a little bit. I’m sure you’ve heard of the brand as we’ve covered it several times before on Toronto Beauty Reviews! If, for some reason you have not – Too Faced is a company “inspired by a love of Paris, unabashed girliness and the transformative power of cosmetics.” – Our Story, www.toofaced.com

They also pride themselves in being cruelty-free! I am a big animal/nature lover so for me this is a big deal!

When I applied the foundation I really could not get over how great it instantly made my skin look. I do not know how the creators of this product did it, but I seemed to achieve what I have always wanted in a foundation – perfect skin that does not look overdone.

It’s good to wait a little for the color to really “set” prior to applying the rest of your makeup. Once dry, I dusted on some blush, filled in my brows and very lightly lined my eyes. I really like looking fresh faced and cannot get enough of the glow that the right product can help give.

Another thing I suggest in keeping with this look is to smile often (even with just your eyes) stay hydrated (if water is boring for you try herbal teas like chamomile or peppermint) and eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies! Makeup can do a lot, but if you are already glowing from the inside out, nothing can compete!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is oil free and masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin.  It contains coconut water too, which is known to be very hydrating for both body and skin. The coverage is so amazing that you can’t see the makeup, but you cannot see imperfections either – hence the name! Yes I was born this way. What are those things called blemishes anyway?

This beauty must-have can be purchased at Sephora for $49.00 CAD.

Are you ready to show the world that you were Born This Way? What are some things you like to do to help maintain an even, fresh complexion?

Let us know if you’ve tried out the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation!

You look amazing in the photo! That is among my Beauty Wishlist items to try out after reading so many reviews on it! I have beefed up my veggie intake and drinking herbal teas which helps inside out! 🙂

Thank you! Yes this foundation is definitely worth every penny! You will love it! Also: I love love LOVE my herbal teas! I just got a gift box full of some new ones from David’s Tea and steeping a new flavor every night! I do love my fruits and veggies, that’s often what I reach for when I want a quick snack! I want to start making more “green smoothies” with Kale and other fruits (banana covers the leafy taste quite well) it’s the best in the morning — gives you natural energy as opposed to caffeine!

I actually tried this foundation a few months ago, but the lightest shade was still way too dark. I’ve seen that they have 2 even lighter shades (online only) now that I’m really excited to try. I just wish I could sample it first. Other than the colour selection, it sounds like a clear winner.

Yes if you can find the right match you will not regret it! Maybe Sephora will eventually get those lighter shades too? Crossing my fingers for you!

BTS looks gorgeous on you, Joanna! I tried so many shades from this range but wasn’t able to find a good match even after they came out with more options. I tried!!

Thank you Allison! I am sorry to hear that they didn’t have the shade for you! TF is always coming out with new colors/products so maybe there will be one in the future that will be the perfect fit!

Haven’t tried this yet, wasn’t sure if there’s a match to my (darker) skintone, but it sure does look great on you! Thanks for a nice review!

I love this foundation – it looks natural, provides full coverage, lasts all day, doesn’t oxidize on my skin, and doesn’t get cakey. The only thing that stops me from using it often is that I find it breaks me out! 🙁

Yes it does look amazing! I don’t seem to get any breakouts from it but if I did, I agree with you on not using it as much!
