Kerastase Resistance Review

Posted on April 6, 2016March 30, 2020 by Elaine

For those of you with dry and damaged hair then this hair care system is for you! I’ve been using these products for a while now, but I wanted to see what the long term results were before writing this Kerastase Resistance Review.

{Kerastase Resistance Review – For Damaged Hair}

There are 4 products used in this hair care system. You don’t have to use all 4 but I personally found that when I did my hair loved the results.

The first step is to “bathe” the hair. Although it’s designed for damaged and over processed FINE hair, I still found the Soin Premier Resistance ($47)  very beneficial to my thick and coarse locks.

Kerastase Resistance Review | Bain Therapiste and Soin Premier Therapiste

With the “reverse shampoo” trend on the rise, this was one of the first systems I tried where I conditioned my hair first then applied a shampoo. After using this “smart-starter” conditioner my hair is already feeling silky and smooth. I then followed up with the Bain Therapiste ($42). It works well for both fine and thick hair but the texture itself is very heavy so be sure to use sparingly on fine hair. My hair felt clean but not stripped after using this product and tangles were super easy to get out.

Kerastase Resistance Review | Masque Therapiste

For those days when your locks need extra care, the Masque Therapiste ($64) is THE BEST and THICKEST hair mask I’ve ever tried. Again, my hair is super coarse and dry, so I actually used a little of this daily as a leave in conditioner to keep my hair soft and hydrated. Definitely don’t do this if you’re worried about your hair being weighed down; I have a lot of natural volume so I welcomed the extra conditioning.

Kerastase Resistance Review | Serum Therapiste

The last product in this hair care system is the Serum Therapiste ($55) which contains 2 textured products in 1: an oil based serum to add moisture and a cream to treat the hair and help seal the ends. I used this products on my wet hair just before adding styling products and a little really goes a long way. It helps to control frizz and to protect hair from any heat styling afterwards.

All in all I LOVED the products in this line; however, there are some drawbacks. The price is a huge one – these salon quality products work amazingly well but they are VERY expensive. While they are definitely worth it, I can’t see most people being able to maintain the system. If I had to pick just ONE product in the line to splurge on it would probably be the hair mask. Also, while I loved the scent of these products they are pretty strong. Most days the scent didn’t bother me at all but on those days when I already had a headache I had to skip out on using them altogether.

I hope you found this Kerastase Resistance Review helpful – have you tried any Kerastase products out before?

    These products sound so nice! I really enjoy the reverse cleansing trend right now, it works so well for me.

    Love this review! It’s an issue I battle with my hair, and this is my first time hearing of these products.
    Intriguing to read about applying conditioner before the shampoo in the hair care/cleansing routine. Price is high, but if it works, then it is totally worth it. I would imagine that not a lot needs to be applied during usage, so I hope it would last me for awhile before having to replenish the supply.
    I need to check out these products….my hair needs it!

      Thank you Doris! There are a few products out there now that do the “reverse cleansing” but I’ve found this system to work the best for my hair. Definitely on the pricey side but at the same time you don’t need to use much of each of the products and they last for quite awhile!

        That’s great to know. I think it is worth investing in expensive and effective products that last long.
