OOTD (from the weekend) all in black

Posted on September 9, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

Even though I’ve been trying to wear brighter colours or add interesting elements of colour to my wardrobe sometimes black on black is just a really easy and pulled together look.

Top:  Joe Fresh (cheap! a few years old.) 100% silk!
Belt:  Winners
Jeans: Gap Legging Jeans faded black wash size 00 regular
Shoes:  Nine west westies size 6.5

I need to get another pair of black heels – have I ever mentioned how badly I wear out my shoes?

These could probably still be repaired by replacing the rubber at the bottom of the heels.  But seriously, this happened to ALL my shoes!  Does anyone else have this issue?  Hmmm…maybe this is my excuse to buy more shoes and rotate more often?  😉

Black is definitely my go-to for days when I don’t feel like trying too hard. It always looks classy and who doesn’t want to believe that black is slimming? 🙂 The belt is such a good addition to this outfit! I really want to try those Gap jeggings now because they look so fab on you.

I have a few heels that are in desperate need of repair. I once got the exposed metal heel stuck between the ridges on an elevator and almost fell completely forward. HAHA. Was not a pretty sight! Have heard so many people say it’s completely worth it to get fixed, but my laziness has prevented me from getting it done. Must do soon! 🙂

I find myself reaching for black whenever I’m not in the mood to make sure I look put together 😉 Great outfit!

Wow @ your heels! Talk about getting your money’s worth out of them!

My shoes do this, too. But my dad takes them to a shoe repair shop (a cobbler) and gets them replaced. They are like new!

Simple but classic looking. You need more shoes. 🙂 I have never seen a heel worn of this much before. I think it’s beyond repair.

Phew, glad to hear I’m not alone on the shoe thing! I guess I should check them more often and get the repaired sooner huh?

Oh, black will be forever a classic. You look chic and as you said, put together hun!

I have a very good relationship with my cobbler. Why? Because I do exactly like you do! I wear my shoes to death!

Wow I’ve never done that to my shoes. But that could be because I buy really cheap ones all the time so that I can rotate often.

I really love this outfit, all black is so chic and anything belted makes me happy. The skinny jeans look great on you too!

Shoot, I do that to my shoes all the time too. It’s an easy fix though – now if I just weren’t so lazy that I couldn’t go to the cobbler …

I’ve had that happen before and it’s easy to replace. But the worst was when I was interning and I had to walk on the roof shadowing an inspection and the rubber melted onto the floor. Then the nail was exposed so then I just started puncturing through the insulated roof…not fun.

The black outfit looks good, but maybe an inch shorter on the top would make it more perfect. =)

I guess I don’t wear my heels THAT much (and also I have a lot of wedges) because that hasn’t happened to me yet! I see that your faded black legging jeans came! They look great on you 🙂

Classy in all black! Loving those gap jeggings on you.

Agh my shoes do that too..when coworkers hear the clickedy click and complain I know it’s time to get the heels replaced…about $7, but yours may be worn down past the point of repair! I now commute only in flats and change into heels at work to preseve them longer.

It’s only natural for shoes to wear down…it’s pretty cheap to get them replaced, and totally saves the annoying hunt of trying to replace your favorite shoes. I’m a regular at the cobbler by my office.

LOL Ya, best to get the heels repaired BEFORE you wear them down to the nails. 🙂 It’s a quick and cheap fix.
I worked at a shoe store many years ago. I take super good care of my footwear and they last for ages. They’re like my babies.:)

Oh man that happens to ALL my shoes. Every once in a while, I just give them all to a cobbler to replace them and add the thin sole to the front too..

Maybe it’s b/c I walk around in New York though where the sidewalks are treacherous haha. Easy fix though!

I think you look great in all black…its totally classy!! I have a pair of heels that did that….and they were ones I loved….they make a funny clinking sound when I walk as the nail hits the floor !!! I never took them to be repaired..I bet they could fix both our issues, huh??
