With summer winding down, I’m taking full advantage of these colourful eye pencils. For everyday wear, you can’t go wrong with neutrals! But I thought it was time to wear a little bit of colour on my eyes as I’m LA bound very soon. Neutrals for Everyday

My go-to when it comes to eye pencils are usually the browns.  The warmer the shade the better. Brown matches my eyes, my skin and hair and gives me a natural but defined look. I can create a smokier effect depending on the shadow I use or how I apply the liner. I also really love to open up my eyes by adding wings because who doesn’t love a classic cat-eye? The Aqua XL eye pencil does it all for me.

I went out for dinner the other night along with my husband, for a friend’s birthday and created this look just before we left. I also used eye shadow from the Clinique Pretty Easy Eye Palette. I am wearing the Aqua XL shade M-60 and really like how highly pigmented each colour is. One smooth stroke and you have the perfect, precise line. It stayed on and didn’t move or smudge.

I have been using one of the three browns in this collection: M-60, D-62 and S-50 nearly every day since I have received them! There are also a couple of blacks, a darling charcoal and a navy which are great neutrals too.

Experimenting with a creative look

Let’s head over to the less neutral tones! This is where I am putting some of my artist’s skills to work. It is really quite a neat feeling to have so much selection. Make Up For Ever did a great job choosing the perfect array of colours. I could create nearly any combination I set my mind to!

For this creative look with the MUFE Aqua XL Eye Pencils, the biggest challenge was restraint! Honestly, there were so many more beautiful colours I wanted to incorporate but had to hold back a little and only choose a few…if you can believe it!

I used a variety of hues, from soft to royal blue, to white and then pale yellow. Then I layered on the mascara for extra drama. I think false lashes would have also been a perfect choice. I find the layering factor really impressive – wait a minute or so for the one application of colour to dry and draw another one directly on top. The bottom shade stays put and the top one boldly makes its statement without damaging anything else around it. Judging by my husband’s reaction it’s not my most wearable, everyday look but for a festival or fun event with the girls why not?

Taking It All Off

I also received this adorable makeup bag to store them in on the go – along with a mini eye makeup remover sample of the Make Up For Ever Sens’Eyes product. I found it stung a little when some accidentally  got in my eye but other than that it removed my makeup very, very well. You would not be able to tell that I was painted up like a mermaid only a minute earlier!
