The start of a new year brings new and fun products! I kicked off 2014 with the launch of new products from Benefit Cosmetics yesterday and today we focus on another favourite brand of mine: L’Oreal Paris.
There are some exciting products that L’Oreal Paris has in store for us – everything from makeup to hair to skincare!
The Total Repair Extreme Shampoo & Conditioner (available February 2014) will help to repair and renew over processed hair. Hair that’s been coloured, exposed to heat styling tools or perhaps secured often with a hair elastic can benefit from this line. It contains an ingredient called LAK1000 (Lactic Acid) which penetrates the hair’s 10 layers to reconstruct the hair fibre.
This is the hair product I’m most excited to try! The Total Repair Extreme Ultra-Concentrated Urgent Repair Care (also available February 2014) contains highly concentrated LAK1000 in a single use treatment. This stuff is for when your hair needs emergency care! I’m thinking after being on a beach for a week or if you are constantly using a flat iron.
There are new exciting products for the skin too! This Revitalift Intensive Overnight Mask (available January 2014) is beauty mask but feels like a cream! Everyday our skin faces the elements like wind, sun and pollution. This overnight mask has ingredients to help heal the skin and address the 3 signs of aging: elasticity, contours and wrinkles. By the next morning your skin should feel and look younger. Sign me up!
You may recall when Revitalift Miracle Blur was first launched last year. There is a new Miracle Blur out on the market and it not only has the same amazing properties of the previous version but it feels more like a cream and hydrates too! Pictured above is the latest product in this collection – Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother (available January 2013) – is another exciting product! Most eye creams are meant to be worn at night, however this one instantly helps to blur fine lines and can be used right under makeup.
Speaking of the eyes, there’s a new Visible lift CC concealer for eyes (available January 2014) that will help correct and conceal dark circles to reveal brighter eyes. Because the formula is so light it shouldn’t settle into fine lines. Not only that, over time it will help correct discolouration while improving and rejuvenating the eye area so you look more awake even after a bad night’s sleep.
One of my picks to get pumped up lashes was to use the Voluminous Butterfly Mascara which will now available in a waterproof formula.
There are 2 new eyeliners out too: Colour Rich Le Kajal and Infalliable Silkissme eyeliner (both available January 2014). Kajal was applied as an ancient tradition in India to protect against bad luck and now it’s a hot trend in Asia. It’s the perfect product to get a smoldering effect and it’s available in black, brown and purple.
The Infalliable Silkissme liner is oil based making it ultra silky to apply. It’s smudge proof and lasts a surprisingly long time. Kristina of L’Oreal had it on all day when I saw her at the launch event and it didn’t budge! This liner will be available in black, plum and petal.
There’s also a new brow product out to get the complete eye look. The Superliner Brow Artist (available January 2014) is a dual sided pencil and includes a brow brush right on the cap. Brush your brows in place, fill in your brows with the precise tip crayon (use a light hand the pencil is soft and quite pigmented!) and when you’re happy seal the colour in with the fixing wax.
Now on to the colour cosmetics. These are always my favourite products! Apologies for the whiskers in the photo – Baxter was curious and had to do the sniff test! Extraordinaire by Colour Riche (already available) is a gorgeous collection of colours available in 16 shades.

These beautiful lip products are highly pigmented but feel amazing on the lips due to the use of precious micro-oils. I can be sensitive and break out when using products with oils (depending on the type of oil!) so hopefully I’ll be ok with these because they are all so gorgeous!
These new Colour Riche Gold Dust nail polishes (available February 2014) are just so gorgeous! These full coverage, shimmery polishes are a great way to go luxe with your nails!
