Polysporin Eczema Essentials for Dry Skin

Posted on February 27, 2014February 26, 2014 by Elaine

Way back when before this crazy cold weather hit us I was sent some products by Polysporin to check out.

Who doesn’t have crazy dry skin in the Winter time? The Polysporin Eczema Essentials line contains 3 products: the hydrocortisone anti-itch cream, the daily body wash and the daily moisturizing cream.

Polysporin-Eczema-Essentials

I actually had a few people try these out for me as I do not have eczema and I would say my dry skin issues are normal and not extreme.

My father tried this line out and he has extremely dry and itchy skin all year round. He is constantly applying body cream but always feels the itch. He didn’t use the hydrocortisone cream as he felt it wasn’t needed but used the body wash and moisturizer daily and after only a couple of days he said he felt a huge difference! I loved hearing that it worked well for him since we’ve been trying out many different types of creams over the years and nothing provided him real relief.

I also had my brother try it out. He suffers from occasional eczema flare ups but they aren’t usually too painful. He also liked using the body wash and moisturizer daily and he had to use the hydrocortisone cream a couple times to help manage the itching so it wouldn’t get worse.

Lastly, I had my friend “O” try it out as she suffers from really painful eczema flare ups on her hands. Unfortunately when she got a flare up these products didn’t really work for her so she has to resort to her prescription creams to relieve and heal so she feels these products would be better suited to those with less severe eczema or just really dry/itchy skin.

I personally tested out the cream only. I’m pretty sensitive to wool but one of my favourite sweaters (coincidentally gifted to me by “O”) is wool so I have to wear it with long sleeves under it by my neck is always still exposed. Just a small bit of the moisturizer on my neck gave me the relief I needed for the entire day!

Although these products might not be for everyone I’d still recommend giving them a try if you suffer from mild eczema or extremely dry and itchy skin. You might just find the relief you’ve been searching for!

Yup – I’m remembering first hand how sensitive you are to wool – with that cute H&M jacket…I’m going to return mine as it’s just too hot. Shame they didn’t make it with a different material 🙁

Oh too bad – it looked great on you! But yes return if you’re not even going to be comfortable wearing it!

Im totally going to try the body wash out, I have very dry skin and suffer for the occasional flare up where I need a prescription cream but that doesn’t happen very often. I’ve been looking for a body wash that won’t dry my skin out. Loved the review

Awesome Kassandra, let me know what you think of it? I think once you have a flare up it’s important to treat it but if you can prevent it then even better!
