{Elizabeth Arden Perfume: Always Red}

Valentine’s Day can mean different things to different couples (or singles!). Whether you celebrate or not, it is a fun excuse to do something special for those in your life you care the most about – whether it be your significant other or your #girlsquad. Yes, I just said that.

One of the perks of writing for Toronto Beauty Reviews is that I am often introduced to beautiful scents where I can:

The popular Elizabeth Arden perfume  ALWAYS RED, celebrates the New York state of mind – boldly living out loud, making your own rules. This scent was created for the leader of the in crowd; inspired by the strikingly confident woman who radiates as she lights up the town.

ALWAYS RED is a Floriental fragrance for today, with top notes of Red Plum, Blood Orange and Passion Fruit, middle notes of Jasmine Sambac, Rose Petals and Pink Freesia and base notes of Mahogany Woods, Red Amber and Praline.

Recently, a friend of mine and I were deciding, if each of us were a scent, what we would be. She said (quite confidently) that I would be a woodsy floral – and come to think of it, most of the scents I enjoy are along those lines.

I would personally describe this scent as woodsy floral meets citrus and amber. I suppose our noses all interpret things a little differently, but this particular Elizabeth Arden perfume is a fragrance that I cannot get enough of.

Now, what better way to introduce a new scent to your love interest or friends than on Valentine’s Day? I have been a little spoiled and have been wearing this scent nearly every day since I first laid eyes on it. I catch little whiffs of it throughout my workday and it’s very chic…sighhh.

If you are trying to decide what to give to someone, ALWAYS RED is also a very good choice on the gift end of things! With the bottle’s design commanding attention by showing off a lustrous ombre black-to-red gradation and sleek onyx-inspired cap, it knows how to make a great first impression.

Now to polish off the fact that you would be carrying a sophisticated and feminine aroma into every room you breeze through, I need to suggest a bold, red lip. I love wearing red lips when it’s a girl’s night with some of my closest friends. Bring a good makeup cleansing wipe with you to remove the color neatly when desired (I don’t like seeing red lipstick on the icing on my  vanilla cupcake after I bite it) but it’s all just preference, really!
