Another fashion week has come and gone and there were a lot of great looks going down the runway. As always, Toronto Fashion Week brings us a sneak peek of what we can expect to be upcoming trends. This year, here are the top 5 fashion week trends in hair, nails, makeup, and of course, clothes that we can look forward to in the fall/winter:[separator type="thick"]
Trend #2: Nails – go dark, add metallics
I know it’s no surprise that as we enter the fall and winter, our nail colours tend to move towards darker shades. This year, expect to see hunter green as the standout colour of the season. Black can be too harsh for some, so hunter green is a great way to get that darkness without going too deep. A touch of metallics can elevate the look. Think of adding some gold foil to a hunter green nail and you’ve got a fantastic look (literally!) on your hands.
I think my favourite look from the week came from the Mackage show. The Essie team, inspired by a downtown girl going through a snowstorm, created a chalky white manicure with an emphasis on the cuticle. The black chevron created around the cuticle provides great contrast and is a nice nail that you can wear anywhere.
