Shoppers Drug Mart Beach Beauty Essentials {Giveaway – CLOSED}

Posted on July 27, 2016August 23, 2016 by Elaine

With summer in full force, many of us will be hitting the beach at some point this year. Whether you’re staying in the city or up at the cottage you’ll want to make sure to take some beach beauty essentials with you!

Shoppers Drug Mart Beach Beauty Essentials // Toronto Beauty Reviews

{Shoppers Drug Mart Beach Beauty Essentials}

When hitting the beach you don’t want to be loaded down with a bunch of products – better to keep room on your beach bag for fun stuff like books, magazines or frisbees!

Shoppers Drug Mart is an amazing one stop shop for all your beach beauty essentials! Here are a few things I think you should pack with you for a day of fun in the sun.

Sunscreen

Obviously sunscreen is an ESSENTIAL! I can’t stress the importance of wearing sun protection daily, but especially when you’ll be out in the sun all day. Apply sunscreen generously at least 30 minutes before exposure to the sun and be sure to re-apply often throughout the day; especially after sweating or swimming. Try: Sunthera 3 Sheer Lotion ($10.99).

Sunglasses

Speaking of sun protection, be sure to bring along those sunglasses! This is one of the beach beauty essentials you definitely can’t leave home without. Your eyes are especially sensitive to the sun’s rays so be sure you’re protecting those precious peepers! Choose from a variety of Stylize Sunglasses ($14.99 – $22.99).

Cleansing Cloths

You might not think of cleansing cloths on the list of beauty beach essentials but these handy wipes are perfect for a day at the beach. Not only do they work to fix makeup mishaps, but they’re a great way to refresh yourself on a hot day. Use them on your hands and feet too for sand that’s hard to remove. Try: Life Brand 3-in-1 Cleansing Cloths ($8.99).

Hair Elastics

Nothing can be more annoying than a windy day at the beach with your hair in your face. Be sure to have a bunch of hair elastics handy so you’re not spending your time removing hair from your eyes or your mouth! Pick up the Stylized No Snag Hair Elastics ($7.49).

Lipstick

For me, lipstick is definitely on my beach beauty essentials list! Just because you’re enjoying the outdoors doesn’t mean you can have fun with makeup too! Pick a lipstick or gloss that’s easy to apply and comfortable to wear on your lips. Try: any of the Joe Fresh lip products (prices vary).

Nail Polish

Here’s another product you might be wondering about. I included this on my list of essentials for the beach because I think spending the day outdoors and by the water is a great opportunity for a quick nail touch up! Obviously this activity is likely weather dependent – unless you’re going for the textured look! Try Quo By Orly polishes ($9.99)

Oil Blotting Sheets

When you’re spending your day outdoors, you’re likely to get a little bit shiny. While some shine is nice for that natural looking glow, being able to see someone’s reflection in your forehead is never ideal; especially if you’ll likely be taking beach selfies! Instead of lugging around a powder for touch ups, oil blotting sheets are the perfect way to get rid of excess oil with ease. Check out Life Clear Action Oil Absorbing Sheets ($7.79).

So there you have it, a list of some of my beach beauty essentials! What are your beach essentials?

You can conveniently pick up all these products (and many more!) at your local Shoppers Drug Mart.

To make a day at the beach easier for you, I’ve got a $75 Shoppers Drug Mart gift card up for grabs! Please enter only if you’re able to use the card!

Just fill out the rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!

For me, it’s absolutely SPF and a lip balm – also SPF if possible 😉 I’m so pale that I burn soooo fast, so if I’m going to be in the sun for any amount of time I have to keep SPF close.

Gang’s all here! 👯‍♀️ I truly love the Gang’s all here! 👯‍♀️

I truly love these @milkmakeup Cooling Water Jelly Tints and wear at least one daily on some combo of eyes, lips, and cheeks. The color payoff is 🤯, the longevity is 😍. They’ve got vegan collagen and aloe to plump and soothe skin.

For an easy, juicy burst of color this summer, grab yours at @sephoracanada! 🌊

Proud ☺️🌈 And loud, since I have the privi Proud ☺️🌈

And loud, since I have the privilege of being able to live my life openly, unlike so many of my 2SLGBTQIA+ peers. I’m a straight-passing cis white woman, so my queerness doesn’t threaten most people.

So, with that advantage in mind, let me use this small platform to say to anyone who is listening:

Never forget that Pride started as a riot.

That Pride is more than slapping a rainbow on something, jacking up the price, and saying “love is love” for four weeks out of the year.

That true allyship involves action and accountability, 365.

That trans women, two-spirit individuals, and queer folks of color are the heart and soul of our community. That they continue to show up, to fight, to love, and to lead while facing very real danger. That we owe so much to their courage.

Never forget that queer folks have always been here.

That you can’t erase us, ban us, or legislate us out of existence.

That queerness is a part of nature.

That it exists even when it’s no longer trendy or politically advantageous.

That we notice and remember who speaks up and who is silent.

That we contain multitudes.

That we deserve safety, compassion, legal protections, love, joy, and a future - just like every other human.

That not all of us are “out” and don’t need to be; that we will invite you in if and when we choose to, and if and when we feel safe to do so.

That queer folks make the world better.

And that, despite seemingly insurmountable odds, we’re going to be ok.

Because resilience, creativity, collaboration, and resourcefulness are fundamental parts of who we are.

So we’re not going anywhere. Get on board.

Happy Pride!

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Come with me to pick up the art piece created from Come with me to pick up the art piece created from the flowers in my bridal bouquet! 🥹❤️

Getting my flowers preserved and turned into this incredible piece was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning. ✨

Amanda and her team are extraordinary artists (and wonderful humans!) who give your flowers a new life and preserve memories. Every time I walk past this piece on my wall, my heart glows with flashbacks of my wedding day.

If you have an important event that includes flowers, do yourself a favor and book with Parched to get them preserved. They accept flowers from across Canada, and have worked on blooms marking all occasions of life, from graduations, baby showers, weddings, and memorials. They can even create pendants using flower remnants!
