Some H&M Finds and Poll results

Posted on March 10, 2011 by Elaine
Despite my avoiding going into malls and stores the last couple of months I did look around an H&M while I was waiting to meet up with a friend.
I found this cute little trench coat:

H&M Trench Coat size 2

Oh and don’t be confused by the hair – this was taken pre-highlights and haircut 😉
Loving the back details

It doesn’t look so great unbelted but I don’t know too many trenches that do.

For some reason I forgot to take pictures of the sleeves!  They are slightly long for me, which is to be expected but I would probably have my hands in my pockets all the time anyway 😉

I also found this navy blazer that I tweeted about .  The red version was tweeted about by Cher @TheFuzzyMittens tweeted a pic here and Annie from Really Petite also showed it off.  Sorry, no outfit posts of the blazer yet but it fits really, really well!  I got a size 4 so smaller petites may do well with the size 2.

And now on to the poll results from my recent Gap Purchases Part 1 and Part 2!
For the Asymmetric Ruffle Front Top 31% voted keep and 68% voted return.
For the Woven Back Cardigan 54% voted keep and 23% voted return.
For the Lace Back Cardigan 63% voted keep and 35% voted return.
For the Zip Sweater 38% voted keep and 60% voted return.
The balance of the votes was for other styling tips.  Thank you soooo much to everyone who took the time to vote and comment 😉  The ruffle front top and the zip sweater are definitely going back and I’m going to try some styling tip with the cardigans to see the versatility of them before making a final decision 🙂
I thought the poll thing was kind of cool and tweeted about how to do it.  A company called Zoomerang contacted me and I checked out there site to do the polls on part 2 – they were really easy and I think they look much better than the ones from part 1!

I think the ruffle details are cute, but honestly my initial impression was that it’s a tad big on you… but it may just be because the sleeves are scrunched up in the pics. I’ve fallen for trenches before only to later realize that they don’t really fit me all that well. Alas, I’m still looking for my perfect and affordable trench while saving up for a Burberry (with alterations of course!)

Very cute on you! The ruffle detailing isn’t overpowering, yet looks very feminine on you!

Personally I tried on this trench earlier but it didn’t look great on me. ;/ Alas, I’ve come to the conclusion that double-breasted coats don’t look good on everyone, such as me. You definitely pull off that trench coat much better than I do!

Also, don’t be afraid to roll up the sleeves! AN Kelly does it all the time and it looks great on her!

I think my friend has the same trench! I remember thinking it was very cute and quirky with the little ruffles. I’ve never seen another trench like that! I actually think it looks equally nice when untied.

Cute trench coat! I’m envious you had time to check out H & M. I would love to spend more time there, but I’m always having to do high speed shopping these days, otherwise one or the other of the kids (or both) start complaining. Have a great weekend!

The ruffle detail is soooo cute! And I agree with you that almost all trenches don’t look that great undone – love the buttoned up look on you though!

Great finds! 🙂 Thanks for linking my photo as well – My tweets are set to protected for employment purposes, but linking it helps other petites with the blazer 🙂

I agree that it does fit really well – For reference, I’m 4ft11, approx. 92lbs, and 28-25-33. The blazer does look a little bulky if worn over a sweater though, so keep the layers thin.

It’s nice to see a trench that isn’t screaming the military trend right now. Looks like it can be worn further down the road and a classic piece.

I remember seeing this pretty trench in stores. The color and fit suits you. Unexpected buys are the best, no?

I love trenches, and H&M always lures me in with theirs, but I must hold out for a real trench that is water resistant.

I love this trench. I’ve been meaning to venture to H&M, I’m going to have to get my fanny over there.

I actually tried on that trench coat a few days ago, but the size 2 wasn’t as fitted as I expected! Usually a 2 in H&M is pretty snug.
