TESTING, TESTING: Bobbi Brown Bronzer

Posted on March 8, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine

I do NOT know how to use bronzers. I’m sure you can tell I’m quite pale in colouring and I don’t tan too easily so getting “bronzed” doesn’t really come naturally to me. Luckily I have makeup artist friends! Stephanie and I were playing with makeup one day and she decided to add bronzer. I…

AROUND TOWN: Blush Pretty Shopping Event

Posted on January 25, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine

I have a soft spot for shopping events. I love the idea of going to one venue and shopping different products and brands without having to “store hop”. Call me lazy but but I prefer it when the brands come to me LOL! Especially in the cold and dreary weather! This is why The Blush…

Happy 2013 everyone! I hope you had a wonderful New Years Eve whether it was partying all night long, hanging with friends and family or even if you didn’t make it til the countdown to midnight 😉 2012 was HUGE for Toronto Beauty Reviews and it’s all thanks to you – my friends, my family,…

Beauty Round Up: Winter Skin

Posted on December 6, 2012 by Elaine

Even though it’s still officially fall the weather in December is definitely reminding us of Winter (except for the “heat wave” that Toronto had for a couple of days!). I don’t know about you but even though I have oily (and dehydrated skin) my skin starts to do strange things in the colder weather. Here…

ON SCENE: Dot & Lil’s ‘Blush Pretty B.F.F.’ Event

Posted on November 26, 2012March 30, 2020 by Elaine

This past week, the incredibly generous ladies of Blush Pretty hosted one of their infamous ‘B.F.F’ events – ‘Beautiful Face Forum’ – for the Montreal based, bath product brand Dot & Lil. Presented by owner and designer Anne Dardick, us lucky invitees were presented with some of her tried and tested products, along with some…

Bridal Beauty Cleanse Completed

Posted on October 24, 2012 by Elaine

Yay, so I’ve officially completed the Bridal Cleanse courtesy of Jen Newell ND and Blush Pretty. Here are my previous posts from week 1 and week 2 and week 3. The all liquids portion was challenging. I think that if I had planned better I would have been more successful! The first day I started all liquids (smoothies and pureed soups) it…

Bridal Beauty Cleanse Week 3

Posted on October 17, 2012 by Elaine

I’m currently in week 3! In case you’re not following I’m doing a Bridal Cleanse courtesy of Jen Newell ND and Blush Pretty. Here are my previous posts from week 1 and week 2. To be honest I haven’t made a lot of progress in week 3. I’m still in the previous phase of avoiding dairy, gluten…

  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
  • Lately, I’ve been feeling a more subtle look. ☁️ Swapping out the black winged liner for a smidge of grey; trading in the full-coverage base for something a little softer. Not exactly sure why, but so far, I like it. ✨ Wearing @milkmakeup sunshine skin tint in light* + @uomabeauty drama bomb mascara* + @annabellecosmetics kohl eyeliner in charcoal* + @madeupbeauty_ lip conditioner in piña colada* + @lysbeautyofficial bronzer in motivate *gifted products @shoppersbeauty @natapr_ @matinee.studio @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #subtlemakeup #naturalmakeup #crueltyfreemakeup #torontopr #muotd #softmakeup #everydaymakeup #affordablemakeup #thoughtfulchoicesatshoppers

  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed.
