It’s February now! Which means that Valentine’s day is just around the corner. For some, February is “Love Month” (see Stephanie Fusco’s recent post) and should be filled with Valentine’s activities. If you’re of this mind set I encourage you to check out her blog for great Valentine’s ideas all month long!
If you’re more like me and don’t see the point of Valentine’s then this will be the only post dedicated to the holiday – promise
Don’t get me wrong…I see the point and there’s never anything wrong in people showing their love for one another but I don’t believe in making others feel bad for it either. And I’m really not one for PDAs so public romantic gestures make me cringe – haha!
That being said, I still find Valentine’s Day themed products really cute! I would just buy them for myself or for a friend.
Here are a few items that caught my eye this year.
I was sent an email about The
7 Virtues Fragrance Company and at first I hadn’t heard of them but then as I read up I remembered that I saw this pitch on the Dragon’s Den. I haven’t tried any of the fragrances out yet but I love the story behind the company. The Made In Canada fragrances source their essential oils from places like Afghanistan, Haiti and the Middle East to help rebuild communities and encourage peace not war. If you’re thinking about picking up a gift for someone or a new fragrance for yourself out check out this company! I certainly will when I get the chance.
Lush Cosmetics always has the cutest themed products. This “Lots Of Love” gift set contains a bunch of yummy smelling products. Included in this fully wrapped up gift set (clockwise from top, left):
- Close To You Massage Bar
- Rose Jam Bubbleroon
- Prince Charming Shower Gel
- Neon Love Soap
- Sex Bomb Bath Bomb
- Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
- Chou Chou I Love You Toothy Tabs (not pictured)
Products from the
Vitabath In Bloom collection are a great alternative to give instead of flowers (and lasts longer too!). I think I would pick the the Asian Orchid & Coconut bundle as orchids are one of my favourite flowers (tulips are the other!) and I love Coconut!
I love
David’s Tea and when I received their February Newsletter of course I was drawn to the pretty in pink tea mug! It’s weirdly not online so if you’re looking for this perhaps try your luck in store. The Valentine’s Day teas sound really yummy too!
You’ve heard of
DenTek right? Known for their oral health care products you wouldn’t think about them during Valentine’s Day – except of course having fresh breath when kissing your significant other! Did you know that Vancouver is #1 in Canada for those flossing daily and Toronto is sadly at only #8 making us one of the worst cities for flossing? Eeeks!
To bring some awareness to this issue and to help us freshen our breaths through daily flossing, DenTek approached me to see if they thought my readers would be interested in a Valentine’s Day Giveaway and of course I said yes (based on a previous post you guys all seem to love giveaways).
Here’s what you can win:
- Valentine’s Day Pouch
- Heart Shaped Chocolate
- Breath Strips
- Compact Mirror
- DenTek Floss picks
This will be a short and sweet one so hurry and fill out the rafflecopter form below and of course have a great Valentine’s season if you celebrate.

I celebrate with my boys and husband by just a quiet homemade dinner, that my husband makes
I’m single so I don’t celebrate
I celebrate. It’s nice to have an excuse to get out for dinner and have a date night.
I do, but never on the actual day. We susually take the dog out for a day hike somewhere.
I am a hopeless romantic so yes! We always go out to our favourite luxury’ restaurant
We do but just with simple things like flowers and of course chocolates.
Nope. My husband isn’t the least “romantic” and even before then I found that Valentines day is all hype, and rarely lives up to expectations, so I have always just ignored the day.
We kind of celebrate, of course we shower eachother with love and affection all year round, but it is nice to have an extra US day besides our anniversary
Of course I do.. i am a hopeless romantic
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s day, just never had
We normally celebrate but since we have had kids it has been more difficult to. Usually a card and a nicer dinner in.
We celebrate as a family, we have our girls involved, make our favourites for dinner and make a great dessert followed by a movie together
We don’t do anything too fancy on Valentines day. Just dinner and a movie usually. Valentines Day is just an excuse to do something nice(r) for someone you love. Some people find it hard to express themselves sometimes so, I think Valentines Day just gives them that little nudge.

Nope, we don’t really celebrate it. We do acknowledge the day, but it’s not a big deal to us.
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. We just never have.
Not generally because my husband and I never seem to be in the same place on Valentine’s Day
i am single so i don’t celebrate with a plus one, but i am babysitting my friends kids so they can go out.
I am single right now so i don’t.
No, we don’t do anything extravagant for Valentines – maybe a card or treat for dessert
We usually go out for dinner & wine on Valentine’s Day.
We don’t *really* celebrate Valentine’s Day; I even said to my husband to not bother to get a card! We will make a nice dinner and have champagne, though. So, I guess I am lukewarm about this holiday.
I celebrate it with my friends, we love the Valentine themed chocolates!
We don’t really do anything special on Valentines day, since we see it as any other day.
vday is lame. barf.
LOL!
I don’t really celebrate. I don’t think you need a specific day to show your love for someone!
Can we be friends?!?
Haha we’re not good at gifts either…we just buy each other what we need before any occasion or save up and take a vacation
I’m glad you make it special for the kids!
Smart!
My parents always made it fun for me too! I love the idea of sharing Valentines with friends
Agreed!
I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s day as I don’t have a significant other.
Ahhh see this is why I don’t like the day – I’m find with Valentine’s in terms of telling EVERYONE you love that you love them but I don’t like when people without significant others feel left out. I don’t like when people feel left out in general. Also that some people feel so much pressure on that day and that they might compare themselves to others.
Sorry…rant over
Don’t really celebrate Valentine’s other than having a nice dinner.
Nope. Don`t like it for some reason.
Yeah I find it makes people feel bad so I don’t like it.
Yes my husband celebrate valentines day, usually just a dinner and movie night.
Lol! I am not a big fan of the holiday either. Holidays in general make me annoyed…I need to be better at not getting so stressed out. Mostly the stress comes from figuring out what to get for someone. I like to make sure each gift is thoughtful and not a “It is a holiday, and I have to get you something, so here…” So you can imagine that Christmas drives me nuts!
I love Lush! A great alternative to Bath & Body Works. The ingredients are much better! I just found out about them when passing by a store at the mall in Oregon. I bought a Christmas gift set there for a teenage family member I do not see too often.
Hahaha! I know WAAAY too much pressure! I much prefer when I see something that reminds me of someone I just buy it for them knowing they will love it – no holiday needed!
LUSH stuff is so cute – almost too cute to use
My husband and I usually prepare dinner together; but that’s the extent of it. We’ll cuddle under a blanket and watch a movie with each other as well
RAFFLECOPTER NAME is Anne Taylor
I love that! It makes total sense and no need to “broadcast” to the world that you love each other
I usually don’t celebrate it, although sometimes we’ll have a special dinner. I do enjoy all the chocolate!
Yes I enjoy chocolate but really that’s all year round
My husband and I celebrate Valentine’s Day, but don’t go too crazy, just a dinner with out the kids.
