AROUND TOWN:Toronto Design Offsite Festival featuring Magiks

Here’s another side of me that some of you who follow me on pinterest may know: I love home decor stuff! Because we move somewhat often (at least among my friends and family) I always go through phases where I am OBSESSED with home decor.

I recently found out about the Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) which kicked off this weekend but officially started yesterday.

The TO DO festival showcases the best of Canadian Design at over 40 exhibits and and events all across the city. The full schedule can be found here.
Now that this festival is on my radar I will plan better for next year and hopefully catch a few of the exhibits around the city.
I was invited to check out one particular exhibit by my friend Rodel called “Into The Light” which will take place at Rodel’s store Magiks Home Furnishings located at 1499 Dundas Street West, Toronto.
Although in general my tastes are more modern and clean I appreciate the warmth and exotic design of the pieces at Magiks. They would be perfect for a future island vacation home perhaps? 😉  Here are a few pieces that caught my eye:

sail lamp
lighting 2
decor shells

This Friday January 25th from 8pm – 10pm there will be a reception at Magiks highlighting this exhibit. There will be light refreshments and cocktails (while supplies last LOL!) – the husband and I plan on stopping by to check it all out and perhaps plan to decorate our future island vacation home 😉

Check out the Toronto Design Offsite Festival on their facebook page. Also be sure to connect with Magiks on facebook and on twitter.

So, are you a home decor junkie too?

Hope to see you there!
