FEATURE: Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips

Posted on June 17, 2013May 16, 2015 by Elaine

There is so much going on with nail products these days it’s actually quite incredible! I will have a round up of all my recent discoveries in an upcoming post but at the moment I wanted to talk about the Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips.

Now I have been introduced to the regular nail strips that are kind of like stickers but call me late to the game, I just assumed the Sally Hansen ones were the same. But they are indeed gel polish strips that you apply on the nails easily (like a sticker!) but cure under a UV lamp exactly like gel polish! I have yet to try these out myself but this youtube video got me really intrigued:

I am going to admit something to you – I’m not a huge youtube watcher. Unless you are someone I know well or I am looking for something REALLY specific I’m likely not going to watch.  But this video from Sally Hansen actually kept my interest LOL!
I really love how they go through the process step by step, it looks so easy! I usually do read the instructions on things but honestly step by step videos are so much easier to follow.  I didn’t even *think* to buff the shine off my nails before applying the strips.
I do see some reviews on their site though about how the strips don’t seem to fit small nails. I think before I try these out I will do another youtube search to see if anyone found a way around this issue. If you’re not into the nail strips, Sally Hansen actually offers two ways to get a gel manicure. The more traditional way  is with gel polish. I have tried this method out (different brand) but there are more steps involved.

So what are your thought on the gel strips or the gel polish? Have you tried them? Any tips to share with me?
