NEWLY ACQUIRED: Express Canada Dress

If you’ll recall my previous post about the Express Canada Grand Opening at the Toronto Eaton Centre, I managed to come home with a couple of pieces.

I love that Express is kind of a one stop shop. Perfect for work, casual and evening wear. They have a lot of great accessories too! If you still haven’t picked out your holiday outfits check out the Express holiday catalog for some inspiration.

Here is one of the of pieces I picked up:

What drew me to this dress was the pattern. I liked that it had a mix of colours and that it had a bit of the “colour blocking” trend going on. I pictured myself wearing this dress alone belted (it came with a belt) for a dinner or casual party but also with a blazer for work.
The dress was slightly big on me (I got an XS) but I think it’s meant to be a looser fit. The arm holes are a bit large but wearing a camisole underneath helps solve the problem and prevents any unintentional peep shows from occuring
Apologies for the pictures of me styling the dress – the lighting is poor and the camera I’m using isn’t the greatest in low light. (Plus, I have no floors – haha!)

At this time of year I’d probably be wearing tights and boots LOL but I was just experimenting with this outfit. I think I would definitely wear this out for dinner and drinks (if I drank haha) after work.
I was trying to see how casual I could make this dress and decided to throw on my boots and put a sweater and belt over top.
