Playing with Polish: Butter London

Posted on May 29, 2012May 16, 2015 by Elaine

Since spring and summer are all about colour I thought I would try to be a little adventurous with my nails. Those who know me KNOW I’m not really one to try out new nail colours. I pretty much stick to soft pinks, purples and nudes. The occasional dark red in the Fall I like but the brighter colours I tend to leave to my toes.

I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit and try out some colours that I didn’t have.

I ordered “Bossy Boots” because it looked like a really nice fresh mint colour. Reminded me of all the pretty mint clothes I’ve been seeing around.

Instead here is what it looked like on me.

I have to say I hated this colour on me LOL!  It looked like a dirty green on me – perhaps I have too much of a yellow undertone to my skin. I wore it for a couple of days hoping it would grow on me but I had to take it off.  Don’t let this deter you, though, this colour got really high reviews! Just wasn’t for me.

I also tried out “Trout Pout”

I was really attracted to this “pinky-coral” colour so I wanted to give it a shot.

I really liked this one!  It’s brighter that what I normally wear but I have to say it made me feel really girly and springy!

I’m sure you all know but Butter London is “3 free” meaning it does not use Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (dibutyl-phthalate) and does not use parabens.

It looked more “dirty” in real life LOL! I think I have too much of a yellow undertone in my skin so it was bringing the yellow out, the trout pout I loved though! Thanks Bessie 🙂

Love both colours Elaine. Trout Pout looks great on you. You could always do Trout Pout on your fingernails and Bossy Boots on your toes:) I was about to put an order on nailpolishcanada but for Lillibet’s Jubilee. Think I’m going to have to make a trip to Holt’s-Sherway very soon!

Bossy boots looks like a light mint neon…but I know the feeling when you see nail polish in the bottle and it looks diff on. The second one trout pout is great! I like it, but I’ve never tried butter london nail polish!

Both colors look great on you! I think ‘Trout Pout’ has more of a shine that I prefer. I haven’t tried any of the Butter London polishes, but I really want to because of the rave reviews.

    Hugs and Mocha,
