Set your makeup with Skindinävia {CLOSED}

Posted on January 15, 2012November 20, 2015 by Elaine

Makeup setting sprays aren’t anything new however I personally am not familiar with them. US based product Skindinävia supplies makeup finishing sprays used by Hollywood makeup artists.  I was definitely interested in trying it out for myself!

The makeup finishing spray is designed to prevent makeup from melting, drying out, becoming shiny or creasing. Those are definitely a lot of claims!

My skin tends to get oily as the day goes on. My makeup kind of slides off a bit and I definitely need to blot.

IMG_5889
The first time I was ready to use it I was actually a bit nervous as I had just finished my makeup and didn’t want to mess it up but spraying something on top!  I read the instructions really carefully making sure to not apply mascara first.  I sprayed in a “T” motion on my forehead and down my nose and then in an “X” motion across my face.

I was happy that when the product sprayed out it was very fine and just kind of lightly wet my face.  I really liked the results! My skin looked more “natural” rather than “powdery” and it kind of gave me a “glow” after it dried, I was kind of worried I would look oily and shiny.  I still had to blot during the day but I checked my makeup in the mirror throughout the day and I could go much longer without blotting.

I’ve incorporated the use of this product into my daily makeup routine. I know there are other setting sprays out there but since I haven’t tried any of them out I unfortunately have nothing to compare it to.  Have you tried makeup setting sprays out before?
Skindinävia has five products:
  • The Original Makeup Finishing Spray which is recommended for normal to oily skin types.  This is the one I am using.
  • No More Shine Makeup Finish oil free and  recommended for oily skin types.
  • 10 Years Younger Makeup Finish recommended for mature skin types designed to keep makeup out of fine lines.
  • Moisture Lock Makeup Finish for dry skin types
  • Bridal Makeup Finish extra strength moisture resistance for that big day!
Skindinävia is generously sponsoring a giveaway.  One lucky reader will win a 4 oz bottle of Moisture Lock Makeup Finish !

Enter using the form below and good luck! 🙂

lately my mascara has been running and it’s NEVER done that before. I’ve tried three concealers, so perhaps a setting spray will lock it in place.

I’ve never even heard of finishing spray before. So cool! I use primer to try to keep my makeup on, but after a long day at the office (which most of them tend to be these days *sigh*) it just isn’t enough. Would love to give this a try to see how well it works 🙂

I frequently give presentations, and that can mean standing in a warm or hot space with very bright lights aimed directly at me. I end up hot and sweaty and that makes my face very oily. This sounds like a great tool for looking great when the pressure is on. I would love to try it!

Not ignorant! I would say it’s moreso for foundation and powder so face makeup but I apply it over my eye makeup (before mascara though as that will smudge). I always do my lips just before heading out the door so I don’t use the setting spray on top of lip colour.

Excuse my makeup ignorance, is the setting spray primarily to set your foundation? Or will it work on eyeliner / lip color as well?
