Last year Ashley did a fun Q&A with Meredith Shaw on the blog. This singer and song writer is working non stop on the next Girls Who Believe Fest which is set to take place November 20th at The Great Hall this year.

The Girls Who Believe Fest is a musical festival celebrating female talent in Canada and showcases up and coming female run businesses. The event raises funds for Girls Inc
Girls Who Believe was actually a song that Meredith wrote about the amazing female friends, mentors and role models she has in her life.
The song was featured on Degrassi: The Next Generation which prompted her to create “Girls Who Believe Sessions” after receiving overwhelming feedback from young girls about how much they loved the song. These sessions brought Meredith into schools and community programs chatting with young girls on how to achieve their dreams.
From here, the Girls Who Believe Fest was born!
This year there is also a contest being held to girls across Canada aged 8 – 16 years old to OPEN the fest (plus win a trip for 2 to Toronto, 2 night stay at The Pantages Hotel, wardrobe by West 49 and makeup by Benefit Cosmetics). The winner will receive the star treatment from Alicia Franchino – makeup and hair stylist.
If you know a talented young girl you may want to encourage them to enter by submitting a youtube vido link of them performing an original song to firstname.lastname@example.org. The judges for the contest are Lennon & Maisy (UBER talented girls!!!!).
You can buy tickets to this all ages event here. For more information check out Meredith Shaw’s website and facebook page.
