AROUND TOWN + GIVEAWAY: Spa Week in Toronto (CLOSED)

Posted on April 2, 2013November 15, 2015 by Elaine

If you didn’t already check out yesterday’s post I will be doing a bunch of giveaways this month to celebrate my birthday 🙂

To kick off my weekly April giveaways I wanted to tell you about Spa Week presented by WaySpa.com happening April 15 – 21st.

To learn more about WaySpa.com and Spa Week I asked founder, president and CEO Jeremy Creed a few questions:
What was the motivation behind starting “SPA WEEK by WAYSPA”?

For years we watched how successful the Spa Week events were in the USA and was one of the key reasons we started a marketing relationship with the Spa Week Media Group.  The idea of being able to offer consumers access to spas for only $50 is fantastic as it creates opportunity for spas to introduce their offers to new customers and it gives customers the chance to try out spas. Customers who have never been to a spa use spaweek as a chance to try the concept as a whole out.

On average, how much can a customer save through SPA WEEK?

All treatments and packages offered during Spa Week are only $50.  Some of the savings are upwards of 80%!

What is your strategy when looking for spas to join SPA WEEK by WAYSPA?

We started by reaching out to some of our more popular locations that received the highest customer satisfaction reviews.  We also look for locations that had unique and special treatment offers.

Do you screen which spas participate?

We do and our customers do.  We encourage spas to join us and as our business has grown we have learned that we personally can’t get to each location so we have two successful strategies to helps us. The first is our customers who when visiting spas have the ability to review them. These reviews go directly on our website for others to read. This helps us with new spas but also with partners who have worked with us for years.  The 2nd program is our “Spa correspondants”.  These are independent spa lovers who visit spas on WAYSPA’s behalf and provide us with a written review that we often post to our blogs.  A spa correspondant for Toronto might visit 20 locations / year.

I see you have added yoga/pilates and fitness to the site. What made you decide to add these services and why do you feel customers are seeking to book these types of services through WAYSPA?

That’s a great question.  Spas are part of a bigger category and that is Health and Wellness.  While many people view spas as a luxury the reality is that most of the spa related services speak directly to health and wellness. Furthermore, we are seeing more spas integrating with yoga/pilates, and personal fitness which speaks to the demands and needs of the customers and the consumer population as a whole.  A lot of wayspa’s corporate clients who purchase wayspa gift product for loyalty and incentives gear it towards health and wellness and its something we at WAYSPA believe in.

What makes WAYSPA different? Why should customers look to book spa services through your site?

WAYSPA is the best place in Canada to find a spa.  A customer can see and compare locations equally to make the best decision that suites their needs.  We have built our business on this concept, our brand speaks to this and customers trust what we deliver to them.

What is the most popular service that customers book?

Massage by far…

Are you a spa goer yourself? If so, what is your favourite treatment?

I am a very active person and I personally have a deep tissue massage once a week to help me with my mobility and recovery.  My wife mind you prefers her facials and has one every 30 days.

Huge thanks to Jeremy for taking the time to answer my questions.

If you’re like me you LOVE being pampered at a luxurious spa. But going often is no doubt really expensive! I like to try and take advantage of group deals but often the deals can be kind of “random”. With WaySpa.com you only have to search this one site with customer reviews for spas all over the GTA. During Spa week you can enjoy luxury spa packages for only $50! Go to this link and sign up to reveal all the spa packages available at this great price.

But…did you want to win a $50 WaySpa.com gift card to use during Spa week?
Well here is your chance!

To enter just fill out the Rafflecopter form below but NOTE that you need to be able to travel to the spa of your choice if you win! This contest is only valid for spas in the GTA. Also, you should book early as spa week only runs from April 15 – 21st. Good luck!

  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend
  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me. Is “follow your dreams” a satisfying answer in this case? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #womeninsports #feminist #sexism #aagpbl #domore #mlb #sexisminsport #likeagirl #femaleathlete #foodforthought #bluejays #tbjwintertour #torontobluejays
  • I love puzzles - especially word and math games - and KenKens are one of my faves! I’ve been completing a LOT of these over the holiday. Such a fun way to take a break from screens and challenge your brain ➡️ Screenshot the blank board to play along with me! (No cheating! ) ⏱️How long did it take you to solve the puzzle? This was one of my fastest (1:35), but I average around 3 mins. Once the grid grows to 7x7, however, I take MUUUUCH longer —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #torontopr #torontoblogger #nerdlife #kenken #brainteaser #math #puzzle #holiday #winterbreak #boredombuster
  • Happy NYE, folks! For those who had a great 2022, cheers a fab end to a fab year. To those for whom 2022 was not so great - toast to a new beginning! Either way, hopefully you’re able to find a moment for gratitude and comfort tonight. ✨❤️ Wearing: @ardellbeauty Magnetic Megahold lashes* @cheekbonebeauty Sustain complexion pencils* 1, 2, and 6 + Sustain eye pencil in green turquoise @lorealparis Brow Stylist Frame & Set in 214 @cbvisage lipliner in Rescue Me *Products kindly gifted —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #ardellholiday #cheekbonebeauty #crueltyfreemakeup #carylbakervisage #redhead #torontopr #torontomakeup #nyemakeup #holidaymakeup #simpleglam #tbrcontributors #bye2022
