October 1st marked the start of Nuit Blanche and the Art of Fashion’s event kicked off the festivities with a Design Boutique and Competition.
There was so much craziness going on at this event! The designs on one side of the room and vendors featuring Canadian artists on the other side. I WISH I had taken more pictures but seriously it was PACKED!!! And being a shorty it was a bit difficult to navigate my way to all the booths. Definitely a successful event!

Gorgeous wedding gowns!
I ran into Amanda of Featherband
!!! And sadly did not take pictures of her but I got a shot of this cool piece perfect for Halloween!
For more pictures of Amanda’s booth check out her website Featherband.
Apparently there was a Flash Mob that I missed out on!! But you can check out the video over at Amanda’s site.
^Loved this models hair^
Gorgeous designs by Denise David
, one of the Designer finalists.
What was really cool about this event is that it was FREE and open to to public who were also able to vote for their favorite designer!
And of course as I mentioned in my previous post Dara Dot Designs
was also there! I was so excited to catch up with Dara and check out the Fall/Winter collection!

since in all my excitement looking at the new scarves, I forgot to take pictures!
(I’ve got my eye on the rust colour one! Perfect for fall!)
I dragged my husband with me to this event and he was a good sport about it. As we left we got stopped and asked to take a “red carpet” picture, you can check it out on my facebook page
. I received this tweet this next day:
How exciting!!! I’m not sure about the prize details yet but as soon as I find out a I’ll let you know!
And it was so lovely briefly seeing my makeup artist friend Ande
– we kind of just passed each other and had to keep moving with the wave of the crowd.
Also I finally got to meet Sharon of Backseat Stylers
who is seriously so gorgeous in person!
Special thanks to Fiona of Keeshan PR
for the invite and whom I’ve actually known since we were kids (our parents still live on the same street hahaha!) so it was really nice to reconnect 🙂
All in all an interesting night at the Art of Fashion Event. How was your weekend?
Open to US and Canadian readers.***
