Pure + Simple Fresh Canadian Brands Event

Posted on July 18, 2016March 30, 2020 by Sohnee

I was invited to experience Pure + Simple’s Fresh Canadian Brands event and was introduced to new companies that are entering the market. As regular readers of this blog know, we’re huge fans of Pure +Simple! They’ve been my personal choice for facials and skincare products ever since I moved back to Toronto in 2013. As…

Éminence Organics Citrus and Kale

Posted on June 27, 2016June 26, 2016 by Sohnee

Summer is finally officially here! The sun is here and I can FINALLY make open toes a permanent thing. It also means that I can put away my heavy moisturizers and bring out my summertime skincare routine. As the days gets hotter (and longer), it’s all about keeping the skin bright, clean, and protected. The Éminence Organics Citrus…

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Perfume

Posted on April 27, 2016March 30, 2020 by Sohnee

{Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Perfume} A new season, for many, means a fresh start. It be as simple as putting away your winter clothes and taking out your spring wardrobe. For others, it might involve getting a haircut or a skin-renewing facial. For me, I like to change my perfume. My mother taught me that some…

Fashion Week Trends

Posted on April 18, 2016April 16, 2016 by Sohnee

Trend 1: Hair – keep it messy or keep it clean There’s no in-between; you’re either team grunge or team clean. Helder Diego went with the “model off-duty” meets “I slept in” look. The key to this modern grunge look is having waves that looked lived in. You can use a large-barrel curling iron to…

Is Charcoal Good for Oily Skin?

Posted on March 21, 2016March 20, 2016 by Sohnee

Pore Purifying Clay Cleanser + Mask This is both a cleanser and a mask. It contains Kaolin clay alongside charcoal, making it a wonderful mask that can absorb a lot of excess oil. I used it as a cleanser, massaging it into my skin and rinsing it away quickly. I also tried it out…

Dry Itchy Skin? Try La Roche-Posay’s Lipikar Baume AP+ Line

Posted on March 7, 2016March 30, 2020 by Sohnee

Previously, I wrote about what I do to combat winter weather and its effects on my frizzy hair. This week, I’m talking about itchy, dry skin and how to keep it well moisturized as the mercury drops. I think everyone experiences dry skin to come degree in the winter, but those who have it worst are…

Live Clean Argan Oil Hair Collection

Posted on February 29, 2016March 30, 2020 by Sohnee

{Live Clean Argan Oil Hair Collection} Winter took a while to show up in Toronto this year. I can’t complain – it made the roads easier to drive and I could keep on wearing my spring/fall clothes without needing to transition into a million layers! It was also great weather for my hair and skin…

Thanks so much to @shoppersbeauty and @lexprcanada for having me! Which brands are you going to check out next? Sooooo many ways to score more Optimum points *Products and experience kindly gifted —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #torontopr #bloggersofontario #shoppersbeauty #shoppersdrugmart #drugstorebeauty #crueltyfreebeauty
  • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
  • Trying out @fentyskin’s Cookies & Clean Detox Face Mask! I love a good mask, and goodness knows my skin needs a bit of help nowadays! ➡️This is one of the products I featured in my blog post about Black-owned beauty brands. I love that it’s not too drying, makes my skin feel refreshed, is cruelty-free, and is part of the Clean at Sephora collection! Have you checked out anything from Fenty Beauty or Fenty Skin? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #blackownedbeauty #blackownedbusinesses #cleanskincare #fentyskin #cleanatsephora #claymask #charcoalmask #crueltyfree #crueltyfreeskincare #crueltyfreebeauty #torontopr #torontoblogger #selfcaresunday #skincareroutine #skincarejunkie #skincarelover #cleanskin
  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon
