With the summer heat, comes endless ‘beauty’ issues. Running make-up, sunburnt skin, and oily hair all have the ability to ruin a perfectly great summer day. Thankfully, Batiste Dry Shampoo provides one way to beat the summer heat and maintain beautiful, silky, and fresh looking hair.

Product: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Coconut and Exotic: Tropical scent)
Cost: $8.99 (CAN)
What It Claims: “…bring lifeless, greasy hair back to life”
First Impressions: I was really skeptical about ‘dry shampoo’. I’ve had some less than stellar results with other dry shampoo brands. Yet, after being convinced that Batiste was the go-to dry shampoo, I opted to give it a try.
Review: First and foremost, the product smells great. The tropical scent (coconut, in this case) is lovely for a dry shampoo. In order to use, you must hold it a couple inches away from your roots and spray. While spraying, massage into roots to evenly distribute the product. This is probably the most important step! If you just spray and leave it, it ends up leaving white streaks within your hair that are hard to brush out.
The packaging is very cute and colourful!
This product allows the user more ‘time’ – whether you’re too busy at work, or too busy enjoying the summer weather – Batiste dry shampoo gives you your time back. I found the product easy to use, and it truly worked. It didn’t leave behind a residue (IF you remember to massage it in) and it absorbed the dirt and oil that sometimes can be left behind after a summer day. I found it provided a minimal amount of extra boost to the hair, which is great for someone with such flat hair as myself.
Verdict: Definitely a good summer staple that really works well in the hot summer months. Great time saver! Great for camping trips, late summer nights, and the happenstance that your hot water heater breaks! (oops!)

Hi Nini! I feel like I’ve seen it at some Shopper’s Drug Marts. Perhaps start there? Let me know what happens!
Where would you be able to find this product in Toronto (Mississauga) ?
Oh wow, that’s awesome! Thanks for the comment, Anna!
Batiste is my favourite!! I found out about them at Blush Pretty’s Beauty Board!
Makes total sense! 🙂
Yes, I’ve tried Tresemme too! I had the same problem, it made my hair more oily than before.
I actually really like this stuff too – of course I don’t really use it that often only when my hair is straight as I try to go as long as I can without washing when it’s straight since it takes so damn long to do – ha!
Ive not tried this brand but the Tresemme dry shampoo that I have used is ok.. Lastsa for a few hours and then I have to reapply it and can actually feel my hair is overloaded with this stuff than the natural feel. It is my last resort and would like to skip if I can.
I have to agree with you there! It’s relatively cheaper than some of the other brands and it actually works. Beneficial on both ends.
I’ve tried this brand about a month ago and absolutely love it! It’s also relatively affordable compared to some other brands.
Definitely! The Batiste one is pretty good. I tried another brand (I won’t name names) and it wasn’t as good. Made my hair greasy.
Thanks for the comment!
Interesting. I’ve always heard of these but have yet to try.
