This Fall has been a strange one, really gloomy for a few weeks and now we’re starting to see the sun again. In the very beginning of fall (yes my outfit posts are THAT behind!) it was probably one of the last days I didn’t feel the need to wear tights. It was still nice and warm out and my mood was lifted so I decided to brighten up by wearing something Spring like.
This is one of my favorite dresses. I had to ask my mother in law to fix the zipper as it was broken when I bought it so I didn’t get to wear it much in the summer. It’s fully lined though so it may have been a bit heavy to wear in the summer anyway. I would love suggestions on how to wear it for the fall and winter! Please leave me some comments, I’d appreciate it!

I think you did a great job making this dress fall worthy! Love the pink and the mustard paired together with lace. I think this would also look great with a pair of cognac boots and a knit sweater or belted cardi. Do you have a denim shirt or jacket? Layer by wearing the dress, a cardi and then a denim jacket – or leather moto jacket. I could also see a plaid shirt working it’s way into the layers. SO many fun ways to wear this. I think it’s a gorgeous dress and can’t wait to see you style it again!
I know, thank goodness for her or this dress would be sitting in my closet for years without getting any use 😛
LOL you got me – I don’t have a huge wardrobe with a vast number of pieces BUT guess what, I DO have a suede moto jacket LOL!!!!
Whoops! Thanks Jean! You know I still never know the difference b/w Ann Taylor and Loft LOL!
Thanks Callandra! Ok I’m making it my goal to style it as many ways as I can 😉
First the H&M pleated skirt and now this dress… your MIL is the magic zipper fixer 😉
I love the colors you wore with this dress! So feminine but fall appropriate. I’m excited to wear my dress in the cooler weather with a thin turtleneck underneath, tights, and black booties! And perhaps a wool trench coat over it.
Elaine..I am reading through these comments and I notice a common response from you…”I don’t have…” It’s ok, building a wardrobe takes time. I actually have a hard to ‘restyling’ dresses, not sure it is lazy or lack of imagination but I prefer to wear a dress just as it is. If I recall this dress is sleeveless. I would suggest a blazer and pointy toe heels, booties if you are feeling adventurous. Or a leather moto jacket…but I am ready to hear, “I don’t have a moto jacket.” lol!
I see links down there already, but I think Cee and Callandra have given us so many ideas on how to style that dress. I love it on you with that color cardigan. And oh, it’s Ann Taylor btw ; )
I love that dress Elaine! So many different ways to wear that dress…..I think it can definitely be worn in the fall and winter! I love the way you’ve added the sweater, you could layer vests, jackets with boots…….the options really are limitless 😉
You know I’m not sure! I don’t browse the Loft site often since they don’t ship to Canada anyway. I remember seeing it on so many bloggers and I tried it on when I was in Florida but it wasn’t on sale.
Pink is such a great colour, suits everyone!
Thanks Kileen! And thanks again for picking it up for me and shipping it to me 🙂
I have black tights, black shoes and a black blazer! I’m definitely going to try this next time! Thanks SL!
Thanks Tara!
I could sooo see you rocking this look Jen! I don’t have anything fur or faux fur, I don’t think I could pull it off but I can see it working well with this dress!
Thanks Michelle!! After seeing this dress so much on Cee I regretted not buying it when I was in Florida so I asked Kileen to get it for me LOL! Cee is such a style genius!
I love everything lace too!! Oh that sounds fantastic! I don’t have anything faux fur though (except the fur that came around the hood of my winter coat LOL!). I’m sure your daughter’s 6th bday will be way more fun anyway 😉 If you do make it to Toronto be sure to tweet me and we can meet up!
Thanks Jessy, I think I’m a little obsessed LOL!
Is that the Loft Dress that sold out in minutes? No wonder it sold out, it looks great! I love the colors. I am constantly thinking PINK all the time now.
i love how you styled this dress!! it looks gorgeous on you and you wore it perfectly for fall!
cute & little
This colour combo is great. I would never think to pair these two shades together. I think for winter this dress would look great with black tights, black shoes, and a black blazer. That’s how I would wear it 🙂
Love this! That dress is stunning, and love the cardi and scarf color combo!
Elaine – I love this dress on you! And wear it with a fur vest or a cardigan with fur with some little booties!
Red Soles and Red Wine
I love what you did the with belted long cardigan! Below are some links to how Cee styled this:
See Cee pair this with a military jacket:

I love that dress! Although I may be bias because in love with everything lace. I think it would look great with a cream long sleeve inside if its short sleeve and a long fur vest on the outside to keep warm. I have a black lace dress from H&M that I may test that out with. Although I wish it was cream like yours because it would look better with my faux fur. My family and I was planning to go to Toronto this weekend for Veterans day because we have a 3 day weekend but I forgot that we were planning my daughter’s 6th b-day party 🙁 Oh well. there’s always next time.
Love your layering. You look so good in lace, Elaine!
Oh it was cold here just last week I think! I had my winter coat on and everything. Today feels like spring out – crazy weather!
Thanks Kathy!
oooh, good idea! And I should check out the challenge too, thanks!
Thanks Heather!
Thanks for the tips Sydney! I don’t have a turtleneck sweater – they make me feel claustrophobic somehow LOL but I do have some sweathers I can try over this 🙂
You look so nice in this! Such a nice touch in this drab wintery weather we have been having 🙁 Its super cold here and our winter jackets are all out.
i love that dress; so pretty!
Cute dress, and I like the colour of your blazer. For winter, how about trying it with coloured tights and a different-coloured belt? (Then you can enter the everybody everywhere challenge too)
Wearing bright colors in the fall definitely helps brighten your day! Love your dress 🙂

Great look, Elaine! For the colder months, I probably would wear a turtle neck sweater over the dress and define your waist with a skinny belt?
