The kind people at Nail Polish Canada contacted me to let me know that the gorgeous Deborah Lippmann Holiday Collection is now available to order on their site. I had a hard time choosing which gorgeous colour I wanted to try out but I ended up picking this crazy colour called “Shake Your Groove Thing” with HUGE flecks pieces of gold. I thought it would be perfect and fun for the holidays.
I was in LOVE when I saw it, look how pretty! Ok so now for the important stuff, here’s how it looks on:
So…kind of “splotchy”? This is my first attempt at using nail polish with such large flecks of glitter in it, it didn’t really come out how I expected LOL! If anyone can suggest how to wear this on its own please let me know!!
What I decided to do was to use it to create a holiday effect instead.
Sorry about the bad manicure job, I never claimed to be a pro! But I love how it came out, just the right amount of glitter that I can still wear to the office without feeling like it’s “over the top”.
I used these two nail polishes that I had on hand from mark by Avon as the base.
If you saw from my previous post I unexpectedly received another colour from the Deborah Lippmann collection so I’m excited about trying that one out too.
Also, have you heard of Nail Polish Canada’s “Adopt a Polish” program? It’s a cute little idea they had told me about a while back but I didn’t realize it was already launched. If you want free nail polish here is your chance to “adopt”! All you have to do leave a comment telling why you’d be the best “parent” and can provide the nail polish a good home. Choose from current nail polishes up for “adoption”. Submit your application by December 31st 2011 and Nail Polish Canada will choose the best home and the nail polish will be shipped to your home free of charge! (Canada and US only). What a fun program!
If you feel you aren’t fit for the responsibility of adoption, you can always purchase any of the other polishes from the Nail Polish Canada site. Free shipping for orders over $29 in Canada
Also, for my readers only you can receive FREE shipping on ANY Deborah Lippmann polish with the code TORONTOBEAUTYFREESHIP until December 15th, 2011. You are most very welcome 🙂
***Disclosure: I was sent the Deborah Lippmann nail polish courtesy of Nail Polish Canada for review consideration***

I saw the same nail polish this week and I was wondering how the big glitter’s would look! I think you need a base for them…unless u can try the transitional effect with more glitter at the tip? does that make sense?!?
Oh good I thought maybe it was just me that thought it looked weird 😛
Thanks!
Great ideas! I really suck at doing my nails so I’ve never attempted anything fancy.
I hear ya! Nail polish doesn’t last very long on me either!
Yes the glitter in this is HUGE! Makes it more difficult to work with for sure.
Definitely a look I need to get used to too!
LOL Elle I eat with my hands too hahaha!
Thanks Sidney! You just reminded me that I do have a gold coloured polish that I could try for next time!
Thanks Katherine! I thought the campaign was so cute too!
Thanks Michelle! Glad my attempt worked out 😉
Thanks Kathy! I know, it’s perfect for this time of year:)
LOL! Yeah I can’t even imagine if I painted all my nails with it – no need for any jewellery!
I was thinking of doing the tips thing but my hands are so shaky I’m sure they wouldn’t come out right!
LOL yes I would love to adopt some stores, or how about purses? I’m sure there are a ton of lonely purses out there 😉
Thanks Heather and Kayla! LOL I hope you can add to your nail polish family soon 😉
I like the effect of it on top of another color rather than by itself too 🙂
Cute glitter polish!

I just checked the website again and they are now selling that set I wanted, Get the Party Started kit. Now I am really going to have to consider buying it.
I have done the glitter polish on my whole nail (black polish with rose gold glitter) and glitter as a french manicure (nude polish with rose gold glitter on the tips). I think it’s really hard to wear glitter on its own.
LOVE the sparkly gold glitter! Such a great color for the upcoming holiday. If I didn’t have to wash dishes a million times a day I would have this polish on my nails all the time 😉 Have a great weekend my dear.
I have the DL Boom Boom Pow and Happy Birthday – the famous glitter colors and love them over other glitter polishes I’ve tried. The formula is thin so it layers perfectly over a colored polish without being goopy and thick and I feel like the glitter isn’t so chunky. Not sure I’m crazy about the large chunks of glitter on this one though. :\
I have always wondered about the new polishes with the large flecks of glitter! It’s a very cool and interesting look for evening, for sure. Thanks for the coupon code!
ahhhh soooo pretty! If I didn’t eat with my hands I would start collecting nail polish…sighing over the pretty sparkly gold color!
Ooohh, I love the huge gold glitter nail polish. I think you should put on lots and lots of coats in order to wear it alone, or try it with matching gold nail polish as a base. But the way you layer it on top of the lighter base looks really gorgeous 🙂
That polish looks very pretty layered! The adopt a polish campaign sounds very fun 🙂
I love the glitter on top of that pretty pearl color!
That adoption site is too cute!!
omg awesome! i love that polish; so pretty and would be great for the holidays 🙂
WOW, the size of the glitters are HUGE. I would try just doing two or three layers of the polish alone, and be blinded by all that bling..
I have a similar gold flecked polish from Sephora that I just painted my tips with..it is so perfect for the holidays!
Adopting nail-polish idea sounds like fun! Wish they could let me adopt some stores too 🙂
Sorry never used anything like this before, so wont be able to give you any idea. But, I like it when you paired it with the other 2 colors.
You did a pretty good job for your first try. We would love to “adopt” some nail polish. We have lots of little sisters for the nail polish to play with. We have a nice little bed (aka, plastic tub) where all the nail polishes get snuggly with each other. We also use nail polish on a weekly basis, so we don’t discriminate all of our “children” We love them all, lol! Heather & Kayla
