Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Posted on June 17, 2015March 30, 2020 by Elaine

Father’s day is this weekend – have you bought dad a gift yet? I’ve got some great Father’s Day gift ideas that will keep dad groomed all year long.

fathers-day-cologne-2

Cologne is always a great gift to give dad since most men don’t ever buy themselves something “frivolous” like fragrance. These three have been on rotation with my husband who is pretty picky about anything too scented – so if you have a picky dad in your life these colognes are a great choice!

I love the women’s version of Burberry Brit Rhythm and I’m so happy that I love the men’s version too. It has notes of wood, amber and leather making this fragrance unmistakably masculine and grounded; but cumin seed and pepper oil add the right amount of spice to brighten it up. $97 for 90mL and it’s available at Hudson’s Bay, Sears, Nordstrom, Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart Murale, Jean Coutu and Burberry boutiques.

Replica’s “At The Barber’s” is one my favourite new men’s scents. It will remind you of soap, shaving cream and just an all around fresh scent feel. The white musks still make this fragrance masculine but basil, rosemary and geranium help to bring out the fresh element of a clean shave. Find it for $115 at Sephora and Hudson’s Bay.

Jimmy Choo Man has a patchouli base which makes it warm and woody smelling but what I love is the crisp scent of citrus notes blended with the subtle sweetness of honeydew melon! What’s most surprising for me about this scent is that it has lavender notes which gives the scent a comforting element. Pick it up for $88 (100 mL) at Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale and Nordstrom.

fathers-day-loccitane-cedrat

I think skincare is always a great gift to give for men – they don’t think they need it but when they use it they certainly appreciate it! Alysia suggested these products from Vichy would be great for any guy with a beard! For any dad out there L’Occitane’s CEDRAT skincare line would be perfect since it hydrates and mattifies. CEDRAT is a fruit in the citrus family that owes its name to the cedar tree since the rind of this fruit has a woody, cedar scent to it. This citrus scent is sure to energize dad each morning! The skincare line ranges from $20 – $42 and you can pick these products up from L’Occitane.

fathers-day-philips-sonicare-3

Dad’s also love their tools right? I think he’d be REALLY happy with this Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Black Edition. Doesn’t it look SO cool? I have the regular white version that I picked up from Costco years ago and I just love this toothbrush! The Black Edition would be so perfect for travel too as it comes with this handy carrying case. Pick it up for approx. $229 at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, London Drugs, Jean Couteau, Amazon and Best Buy.

fathers-day-philips-shaver

Another everyday gadget that Dad is sure to appreciate, is the Philips Shaver Series 9000. The shaving heads move in 8 directions and cut up to 20% more in a single pass! I know it’s been making mornings much easier for my husband. Dad can use it on his face or his head too if he likes that close cut look. It retails for approximately $269 – $399 and you can pick up at Canadian Tire, Best Buy, London Drugs, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, Amazon and Personal Edge.

What will you be getting dad this Father’s Day?

  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon
  • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
