Fresh New LUSH and Yorkdale Store Opening

Posted on July 3, 2014November 15, 2015 by Elaine

LUSH is one of those brands that always had cute and innovative products that don’t just have a catchy marketing concept behind them – they actually work!

LUSH-summer-2014-group, fresh new lush, summer 2014, summer collection, lush body products

#freshnewLUSH

So what does fresh new Lush refer to? 6 new yummy smelling products which are available starting today (July 3).

LUSH-summer-2014-Granny-takes-a-dip, bath bomb, lush bath bomb, colourful bath bomb, vegan soap, lush soap

Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb ($6.95)

This cute little bath bomb is vegan and will add a psychedelic effect to your bath time routine. I know, I know, who takes baths these days right?!? LUSH bath bombs just may change your mind about taking the time to bathe! This powerful little guy packs a moisturizing and sensory punch with citrus and lemon oil to perk you up and boost your mood while ginger and pepper stimulates your circulation.

LUSH-summer-2014-Magnificent, soap, mango soap, lush mango, lush soap. lush body , vegan soap

Magnificent Soap ($6.95 per 100g)

If you love eating mango you will have to hold yourself back from consuming this yummy smelling vegan soap which doesn’t only smell like mango but it contains mango pureé, and a blend of dried and fresh mango throughout. Fresh mango is an antioxidant and this soap also contains Tunisian neroli oil which has been proven to increase serotonin production. Sicilian lemon and mandarin oils provide a zesty scent to wake you up on sluggish mornings.

LUSH-summer-2014-Parsley-Porridge, lush soap, lush vegan soap,

Parsley Porridge Soap ($6.95 per 100 g)

This solid vegan soap is detoxifying and clarifying so it’s perfect for preventing bacteria build up that occur in the hot summer months. Thyme is the bacteria busting ingredient while tea tree oil provides antibacterial properties and ground porridge oats serve to exfoliate away dead skin cells. Parsley, which contains chlorophyll, helps return skin to a healthy condition while the aloe gel helps to soothe sun exposed and dehydrated skin. This soap is the choice for clearing acne prone skin on the chest and back so you can say goodbye to “bacne”.

LUSH-summer-2014-African-Paradise, LUSH body conditioner, body moisturizer

African Paradise Body Conditioner ($39.95)

What is a body conditioner you might ask? Well it’s like a body lotion that you apply like hair conditioner right in the shower! This little tub might seem a bit pricey but trust me, you won’t need a lot of this stuff to keep your entire body moisturized and smelling AMAZING the entire day. Full of quality ingredients such as Fair Trade African Shea Butter to soften skin and Fair Trade moringa oil from Ghana to nourish the skin you will feel like you’ve just been to the spa every time you shower. Like I mentioned, it’s like a hair conditioner – put some on all over the body in the shower to damp skin and rinse off excess. You’ll also love the smell inspired by the perfume of frangipani flowers.

LUSH-summer-2014-DFluff

D’Fluff Shaving Cream ($9.95 – $16.95)

This vegetarian shaving cream is so fun to use. Its mousse like texture and strawberry scent sometimes confuses me as I feel like I should be eating it instead of shaving or cleansing with it! Fair Trade cocoa butter is the ingredient that not only moisturizes but creates the “fluff” and it’s whisked with fresh strawberries, egg whites and syrup. Can you see why I get confused?!? Both men and women can use this and it doubles as a body wash too.

LUSH-summer-2014-Zeste, vegan hair gel, lush hair gel

Zeste Hair Gelly ($12.95)

Ok guys…this is my new favourite product! This product has allowed me to go longer in between hair washes when I flat iron my hair! Did you know that sugar was used to create those crazy Mohawks that were around back in the day? Inspired by that trend this product uses the sugar of orange juice to to boost the hold power of this hair gelly. From what I’ve seen online, LUSH jellies can be frozen or chilled and although I haven’t tried this yet I might do so when it gets really humid out. Carageenan extract is what creates the texture and keeps hair soft. I use this stuff on my natural curls and if I flat iron it I can go days without washing because my hair still feels really clean and still smells great! I’ve had so many people comment about how good my hair smelled. I didn’t disclose that I was due for a hair wash 😉

As I mentioned ALL these products are available online at LUSH.ca today and I also wanted to let you know that next week LUSH will be opening its 200th Canadian store at Yorkdale mall!! Isn’t that so exciting?

The grand opening is scheduled for July 11th all day and I will be there hosting part of the event! Come visit me from 12pm – 3pm!

I would LOVE to meet and hang out with you so please stop by…there’s sure to be some exciting things happening (ahem…gift with purchases, giveaways and prizes!) so don’t miss out!

  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small
