GRATiAE: Organic Skincare

Posted on October 16, 2012 by Elaine

Lately I’m more and more interested in finding out about organic and natural skin care. While I know in theory it’s better for you I’m not still a complete convert but if there is a product I can find that organic and natural that WORKS and I truly LOVE then I may be willing to spend a bit of extra money for the product. Otherwise I will just use whatever I feel works for me.

I was really interested in testing out a skin care line I’d never heard of: GRATiAE.

The name of the company has an interested story behind it. A 2nd century Roman emperor discovered a hidden natural thermal spring by the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel and the mineral-rich thermal spring became a popular attraction due to its therapeutic, curing and rejuvenating properties. Roman royalty even used this natural spa! The Roman empire named this spring GRATIAE which means “The Three Graces” after the goddess of charm, beauty and fertility in Roman Mythology. This skin care line makes use of Gratiae’s thermal spring water by combining it with exclusive ingredients native to the Sea of Galilee and organic plans to restore youth and beauty.

I was sent some of the body care products to test out.

Body Butter in Passion Fruit & Ginger // Exfoliating Body Scrub Passion Fruit & Lime
I love body scrubs but I find that I never have the time to use them on a regular basis. This one by Gratiae was a bit different from the ones I’ve tried before – it was a lot drier whereas usually the scrubs I’ve used are in some kind of paste or oil. This scrub is meant to be used in the shower on wet skin. It feels sooo good! I could feel the blood flowing especially in my legs as I used this. I will definitely have to make time to use this more often!
The body butter…is simply amazing. It was so rich but absorbed really easily. It was like a light whipped cream and the smell was incredible! I wasn’t sure if passion fruit would be too fruity and I’m not a fan of ginger but weirdly the scent reminded me of a real (not the fake candy kind) pina colada minus the alcohol!
My only drawback with these products is the price…the scrub and body butter will set you back $59.99 each – ouch! But then again this is a luxury skin care line so with that in mind then the prices are reasonable.
If you’re looking for a great organic all natural line this is definitely one to check out. Another great thing about this luxury skin care line is that they have partnered with Plan International’s Because I’m a Girl  initiative to to end gender inequality, promote girls’ rights and unleash the power of girls and women from around the world. Girls are often the poorest of the poor and investing in girls is the key to eliminating poverty. Online donations to this cause can be made through GRATiAE here.

You can also catch up with GRATiAE on twitter and on facebook.

So what do you think of this line? Would you be willing to give it a try?

  • Happy NYE, folks! For those who had a great 2022, cheers a fab end to a fab year. To those for whom 2022 was not so great - toast to a new beginning! Either way, hopefully you’re able to find a moment for gratitude and comfort tonight. ✨❤️ Wearing: @ardellbeauty Magnetic Megahold lashes* @cheekbonebeauty Sustain complexion pencils* 1, 2, and 6 + Sustain eye pencil in green turquoise @lorealparis Brow Stylist Frame & Set in 214 @cbvisage lipliner in Rescue Me *Products kindly gifted —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #ardellholiday #cheekbonebeauty #crueltyfreemakeup #carylbakervisage #redhead #torontopr #torontomakeup #nyemakeup #holidaymakeup #simpleglam #tbrcontributors #bye2022
  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend

  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me. Is “follow your dreams” a satisfying answer in this case? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #womeninsports #feminist #sexism #aagpbl #domore #mlb #sexisminsport #likeagirl #femaleathlete #foodforthought #bluejays #tbjwintertour #torontobluejays
