The holidays seemed to be about glitter and sparkle this year especially. I didn’t add any of this to my wardrobe but when I attended IMATS I discovered a line called LA Splash. Having heard so much about their eye primer and sealer to be used for glitter or shimmery makeup I purchased this item along with a lot of glitter! I guess I was wowed by all the pretty sparkly glitter; let’s face it – I don’t lead a life where glitter it a necessity in my “beauty wardrobe”.
Here were my key tools:
Now please don’t judge me on my technique here! I have no clue what the proper way to apply this stuff is. I just kind of made it up as I went 😛
I actually did a neutral eye using my UD Naked Palette then I applied a very LIGHT coat of the sealer base on my eyelid only where I wanted the glitter to stay. For me this was concentrated on the outer part of my eyelid working inwards towards the middle. I brought it up slightly towards but not into my crease. Then with my finger I applied the a light coating of the glitter. Trust me, a light coating went a long way!
Here’s what it looked like (again, my first time, no where near the perfection of my make up artist friends!)
You can definitely see how it changes the look of the eye shadow! My only concern is that because the product is kind of tacky it might be hard to blend out eye shadows. It would probably be best applied with the fingers but I guess I would have to experiment with that.
Has anyone else tried this or any other products from LA Splash? What do you think about them?
Any tips you’d care to share?
I love the glitter. On my way to buy this now and try out the look.
Thanks for sharing.

Sweet! I like this, too, but not for regular eyeshadow priming. My eyelids just get all stuck together lol

Ooo, I think it looks gorgeous Elaine! And good for you for trying it…glitter scares me and I’m sure my eyelids would end up looking like a kindergarten craft project if I attempted this look Lol:-)
Love hearing about new products from you…

Glitter can be tricky to pull off, but you did it very well. A nice touch of sparkle for a night out 🙂
