Hmmm…so when blogger went down I lost my draft post, luckily I didn’t get very far with it!
Anyway, since I’ve still been feeling under the weather, besides a blackberry picture I haven’t taken any photos! So here is an outfit from a while ago. I was actually experimenting with belting a scarf the way I’ve seen many bloggers rock! Not sure it worked out, but I loved the colour combo and was happy that I tried something new 🙂
Sweater: Gap XS
Scarf: mark by Avon
Belt: Danier XS
Jeans: Gap jean leggings 00R
Shoes: Nine West size 7
I really loved the combination of the mustard and the pink – it made me feel happy! 🙂
I really loved the combination of the mustard and the pink – it made me feel happy! 🙂
Close up of the pretty scarf:
My nude pumps! Sooo comfortable! They kind of made their debut during Petite Fashion Challenge #7
Ummm…so to “change it up” here’s a picture of me sitting…b/c that’s the only thing I could think of to be creative LOL!
Anyone else tried this before or have been inspired by other bloggers? What do you think, did it work? Any suggestions for me?

I love that colour combo, too, and you’re lucky you can wear that mustard hue. I love it but it looks terrible on me.
@Sweet Laundry Yes Nine West! I don’t know if they have this exact style anymore, but they had so many great nude pumps! I liked these b/c they weren’t too high 😉
@Make-up JunkieThank you Joy, so sweet!!! 🙂
@Really PetiteOh Annie, I’m sure it looks great on you! You might need a shorter scarf though, maybe it hangs too long on you?
@AubreyOhDang!LOL you always make me laugh!! I know what you mean, I can’t have any scarves around my neck like that except for thick winter scarves, seems to claustrophobic to me!
@PetiteLittleGirlThanks Sydney, I was pleasantly surprised by how this turned out!
@The Little Dust Princess I know, I didn’t think so either til I tried it 😉
@NatashaThank you Natasha!!!!!
@A Fine BalanceOh man, I am not really comfortable in front of the camer but I got used to it….and there’s no one else in the room with me LOL – those are self timed shots 😛
@KikiOh Kiki, what a huge compliment coming from you! I love your style 🙂
@Natasa * Stiletto Twins Thanks Natasa, I’m sure you would wear it well!
@EmmyOh Emmy, try it, you would rock it!
@organic lipstickThank you for your comment, and sooo true! I think it’s all about the accessories.
@MandyThanks Mandy!!! 🙂
Wow, awesome! I love it! 🙂
Sometimes scarves can really create a novel and unique look to the style …. sometimes when you are going for a party from office just a little additions can steer the look to a new height.
I love the color combination. I have seen this on other bloggers but have been too shy to try it on myself. You look fabulous!!!
Such a pretty scarf! Every time I try this it ends up looking too bulky – you pull it off well!
I don’t think I’ve ever done this, but you’ve inspired me to try! You look incredibly polished!
xoxo kiki
I think you are doing a wonderful job! Its difficult to be in front of a camera but you do it well. I love the up close pictures so you can see the design…thank you for your comments on my blog 🙂
PS I will be in Tdot this weekend whooo!
I love those colours togeter, and the belted scarf is perfect!

I like the colour combo as well! Never thought pink & mustard would go well together. haha
You look great, Elaine! I like that color combination. Mustard and pink go really well together. I haven’t tried this yet but I certainly will 🙂
I only like belted scarves when it looks like you’re not choking yourself. I dont know why ppl wrap it around their neck like a turtleneck and then belt it. I often wonder, “one tug and you’re dead missy!” hahahah.
Oooooo so so pretty! I have tried this but didn’t look this good!
Love the scarf color with the mustard!
aww you look so purdy 🙂
YAY! You did it! I have seen the belted scarf look many times and wondered if I would ever try it. I like how you’ve brought the two pieces to the center like that. I think it looks better that way. I also love this colour combo, I would never have thought of it. And I’m totally into these nude pumps. Nine West? I’ve to have these ASAP!
what a beautiful scarf and the belting totally worked!! the outfit has some of my favorite color combinations too!! (definitely color brigade-worthy!) 🙂
cute & little
@Kat Thanks for your comment Kat, I’ll definitely check your post out. Always looking for new inspiration 🙂
@questforfashionsenseOooh I would love to see you wear your scarf!! I’m sure you looked great!
@CeeThanks Cee! Yes you are obviously one of the bloggers I get inspiration from – I couldn’t find an exact post to link to though!
@hurricanekerrie LOL ok I’m glad the sit down thing worked out 😛
@MichelleThanks Michelle! Yes I love this scarf since there are so many different colours to pull out of it 🙂
@Petite in the City Gah Lor, no I haven’t done a 2nd review yet – I’m so behind with all my posting – so many ideas, so little time. I’ll put it on the list!
@NelahI LOVE how you styled your latest special purchase! I don’t think I’m confident enough in my scarf folding abilities to pull that off though 😛
Thank you, I’m definitely on the mend 🙂
Scarf is definitely a hot commodity this year and I like how you style it. Such a fun color combo. If I didn’t know the bloggin community, I would never buy a scarf or even if I bought one, I would only use it as a scarf (to wrap around my neck and that’s it lol).
Hope you get well soon Elaine.
Your outfit looks great!! I’ve been meaning to try this look too!
Reading everyone’s blogs is always inspiring! I’ve found so many creative ways to wear my existing clothes. Before I started blogging, I used wear the same set of outfits week after week…
By the way, did you ever do a second clairsonic review? Or did I miss it?

This worked out so nicely!! Your scarf seems to have a tinge of mustard in it already. And the pumps look great with the cardigan!
Oh, you rocked it! I think it was great pairing the mustard with the pink, too! Lovely colors.
Aaand, I’m so for sitting down to “change it up.” Sometimes, a girl just has to sit down, you know? 🙂
Yes, I think this belted scarf looks great on you! I’ve tried the same trick, but I let the ends hang loose, instead of criss-crossing them like you did. Will have to try that in the future!
I love the color combination and you inspired me to wear a scarf today! I tried to do the belt over scarf look, but I had muffin top issues. Maybe I’ll fare better next time. Also, I really like the shape of your nude pumps–very classic and flattering.
You’re working this outfit! Great colour combination. If you wanted to try a variation on this look, I’ve also seen it with a belted peacoat or trenchcoat. I’m inspired by other bloggers all the time – see my recent posts on a denim shirt and leggings outfit or my bejewelled belt!
@Naghmeh Awww thank you so much for your comment 🙂 I really appreciate it!
@JanellaThanks you’re so sweet!
@SewPetiteGalSPG, I’m definitely much better this weekend than I was last! Go figure the weather is miserable right now 🙁 Yay, I’m glad you liked this combo 🙂
@OlyviaSo…funny enough I don’t have those highlights anymore LOL! I just got my hair coloured on Friday 😛
I love this color combo on you! It brings out the pretty highlights in your hair too (which btw your curls looks gorgeous in these photos) I haven’t tried the belt outside a scarf, but it looks effortless on you!
Aww, Elaine – so sorry to hear you are still feeling ill! I hope you feel better soon!
This totally worked! I love the paisley pink pattern paired with the yellow – gorgeous! Glad you found comfy pumps too 🙂
You look so pretty
I think you totally rocked that outfit! love the colour combo and those shoes!
