John Frieda: New Products for 2014

Posted on February 10, 2014March 16, 2014 by Elaine

John Frieda does hair products really, really well. Currently in my hair routine rotation is their famous Frizz Ease Dream Curls line (the shampoo + conditioner and styling mousse).

So it’s easy to say that I’m a fan of their products. Not too long ago was invited to the launch of the new 2014 products and I’m excited to share them with you!

John-Frieda-Sheer-Blonde-Brightening-Oil-Elixir
Another famous product line of John Frieda is the Sheer Blonde line. While I can’t vouch for any of this line…as I’m obviously not blonde…I have some light hair friends that love it! New to the line is the Brightening Oil Elixir. Now I’m a big fan of hair oils so even though I’m not blonde this is still an exciting product!
Most blondes (natural or not) complain about their hair being “brassy” looking and not shiny. In general, darker haired ladies are blessed with the shiny hair – light just reflects off of it more easily. This brightening oil elixir will brighten up the blonde hues while adding moisture to the hair which is key for shiny locks.

This oil will retail for $12.99 and contains Sunflower Oil which is known to intensify blonde hues. It will also soften the hair and add shine to your dry locks.

John-Frieda-Full-Repair-Deep-Conditioner
I’m a huge fan of deep conditioners as my hair is always very dry and could use all the moisture it can get! I will sometimes leave deep conditioner in and not rinse it out for added moisture. I don’t recommend this for all types but if your hair is pretty coarse like mine it’s a great trick to keep hair soft.

This product will retail for $10.99 and is packed with Inca Inchi Oil which is lightweight and not greasy but perfect for restoring much needed moisture in this dry weather.

Along with this deep conditioner the Repairing Oil Elixir ($12.99) will be introduced. I’m looking forward to trying this one out too!

John-Frieda-Colour-Refreshing-Gloss
The most exciting product (for me anyway) is this Colour Refreshing Gloss. If you dye your hair like I do you’ll understand how frustrating it is to go into a salon, spend money on colour, come out looking and feeling amazing only to have your colour look dull or your roots already coming in a few weeks later.
This new innovation is an at-home version of a salon treatment and will maintain that first-day “flawless colour”. What it does is refreshes the tones of colour-treated hair by adding back specific colour pigments that are lost during the fading process.
There’s one for every hair colour tone:
  • Warm Blondes (restores golden tones)
  • Cool Blondes (neutralizes brassiness)
  • Warm Brunettes (restores rich chocolate tones)
  • Cool Brunettes (restores deep espresso colour and eliminates red-orange tones)
  • Warm Reds (restores firey copper tones)
  • Cool Reds (restores vivid red tones)
It will retail for $12.99 and is enough for six weekly applications. So that will give you six extra weeks of colour before having to visit a salon again!
Do any of these products pique your interest?

  • Happy NYE, folks! For those who had a great 2022, cheers a fab end to a fab year. To those for whom 2022 was not so great - toast to a new beginning! Either way, hopefully you’re able to find a moment for gratitude and comfort tonight. ✨❤️ Wearing: @ardellbeauty Magnetic Megahold lashes* @cheekbonebeauty Sustain complexion pencils* 1, 2, and 6 + Sustain eye pencil in green turquoise @lorealparis Brow Stylist Frame & Set in 214 @cbvisage lipliner in Rescue Me *Products kindly gifted —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #ardellholiday #cheekbonebeauty #crueltyfreemakeup #carylbakervisage #redhead #torontopr #torontomakeup #nyemakeup #holidaymakeup #simpleglam #tbrcontributors #bye2022

  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend
  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me. Is “follow your dreams” a satisfying answer in this case? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #womeninsports #feminist #sexism #aagpbl #domore #mlb #sexisminsport #likeagirl #femaleathlete #foodforthought #bluejays #tbjwintertour #torontobluejays
