My LANEIGE Skin Care Routine

Posted on March 4, 2016March 30, 2020 by Elaine

With this crazy up and down weather we’ve been having, my skin has been all over the place. Normally it’s quite oily and my breakouts are for the most part under control; but lately my skin has been oily, dry and breaking out all at the same time. LANEIGE skin care launched in Canada in December and I was sent a few products out to try. Today I’ll share with you my new LANEIGE skin care routine.

LANEIGE skin care routine, sleeping mask, serum, gel cream, Korean skin care

{My LANEIGE Skin Care Routine}

Korean skin care has been taking over the North American beauty scene for a few years now. It all started with BB creams and more and more K-beauty brands are making their way into our beauty routines. The LANEIGE line is all about hydration and targets women in their 20’s and 30’s. I’m in my late 30’s but for me hydration is still key!  We normally think about dry skin as something that’s uncomfortable and that we simply have to treat; but in Korea, hydration equals anti-aging. Typical anti-aging skin care doesn’t work well for me as it’s too heavy for my oily skin.

These products, are anything BUT heavy. They are all so lightweight and absorb beautifully into my skin. At first I thought they were TOO lightweight to provide any real results; but I was happily mistaken!

Since I also break out quite a bit, I still stick to my staple acne products. I simply incorporated these LANEIGE products into my regular skincare routine.

  1. After my makeup was removed and thoroughly cleansed, I reached for the LANEIGE Water Bank Serum ($46). Just  a couple small pumps was enough to cover my entire face and neck. TIP: pat it onto the skin instead of rubbing it in; it’s so lightweight that your skin will naturally absorb it where it needs it most.
  2. After applying the serum, I took a bit (nickle sized amount) of the LANEIGE Water Bank Gel Cream ($42). This cream has such a cool texture. It’s not heavy at all (which is perfect for my skin type) and has a lovely instant hydrating and cooling effect.
  3. Once a week or so, I used the LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask ($30) instead of the gel cream. Sleeping masks are masks that you wear all night without rinsing off. They are slightly thicker in consistency than regular overnight creams but are formulated to absorb into your skin and work their magic while you sleep and to help boost your skin’s natural repairing properties.
  4. On days when I wanted a little extra pampering I’d reach for the LANEIGE Mulitberry Yogurt Repairing Mask ($33).

Using a special fermented yogurt and berry extracts, this mask will make your skin feel extremely hydrated and plumped! Not to mention the smell…it literally smells like a strawberry smoothie!

I am completely convinced by LANEIGE skin care products. They’ve really helped balance my skin and keep it hydrated during this crazy winter we’ve been having. LANEIGE products can be purchased at Sephora.

I hope you liked reading about my LANEIGE skin care routine – have you tried any of these products out before?

  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend
  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me. Is “follow your dreams” a satisfying answer in this case? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #womeninsports #feminist #sexism #aagpbl #domore #mlb #sexisminsport #likeagirl #femaleathlete #foodforthought #bluejays #tbjwintertour #torontobluejays
