L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lacquer Liner Review

Posted on July 3, 2012January 17, 2016 by Elaine

Product: L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lacquer Liner 24H Eyeliner (available in ‘Blackest Black’ and ‘Slate’)

Price: $12.99 (CAN)

What It Claims: “…first gel liner from L’Oreal Paris; never flat or ashy, long wear technology with professional precision”

First Impressions: I have a love affair with liquid liners. I’ve dabbled very little in gel liners, but I was very excited about the claims this produced. L’Oreal’s liquid liner was a staple in my makeup bag, so I had very few reservations in terms of the quality. Usage: This product comes with its own applicator brush. The brush is small and compact enough to fit into your make-up bag. The brush is also imperative for application – it can help you create bold, dramatic lines while also being precise enough to create smaller designs. The little tiny pot is compact enough to fit right into any purse or makeup bag.

Review: Adoration. Pure, unadulterated, adoration. I’m converted from liquid liners – this product is my favourite product of Summer 2012. This item is foolproof – great for beginners and even better for more experienced hands. Here’s a tiny breakdown:

The Brush: The brush is the real powerhouse behind this product – the use of the brush makes the liner much easier to handle. The precise application of the brush makes it easy for beginners – you can simply wipe away any mistakes and start again. ‘Shaky hands’ are almost eliminated here. The tiny brush makes application a breeze – I find the brush much easier to handle than a liquid liner pen, and I’m a liquid liner junkie.

The Liner: I tried out the ‘Blackest Black’ liner. The colour doesn’t budge and there is zero reason or requirement for reapplication – the colour doesn’t fade. In actuality, I brought this tiny pot with me on a recent trip to the Caribbean. Even with the constant heat and humidity, the product didn’t fade or smudge until I removed it with makeup remover. The formula and texture of the liner is as smooth as silk. The tiny brush picks up just the right amount of product every time, and it’s very easy to simply wipe away any excess. Well done, L’Oreal.

Verdict: I would recommend this product as the ONE eye product of the summer. Great for beginners looking to try out the dramatic eyeliner look, and even better for experienced hands as it guarantees lasting results. The price makes this a drugstore MUST have. It’s really great for experimenting with a dramatic ‘cat-eye’. Perhaps I’ll post some eye photos next?

So all, let me know what you think! Anyone else have promising results with this product? I’d love to hear from you!

  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small
