My first ebeauty.ca purchases and a review

Posted on August 6, 2011 by Elaine

So…I made these purchases in MAY and I’m just posting now ACK! Don’t hate me!!!  This post will be picture heavy as I bought items from Consonant Body, NYX, Vasanti and Too Faced Cosmetics.  I also wanted to do a quick review of ebeauty.ca itself, so that will come at the end of this post.

First up, I ordered the Consonant Body Foaming Face Wash in both the unscented and in citrus bergamot.

Consonant Face Washes 1
I loved how my face felt after my fresh beautiful studio treatments – this is the face wash that is used there.  I was also sent a complimentary Spearmint and Sage Organic Body soap!

Consonant Face Wash Citrus Bergamot
I love the labeling 😛

On to the makeup! I ordered some items from NYX:

NYX items
NYX cosmetics round Lipsticks and Single Eye shadow
NYX Lipsticks 2
Colours: Thalia and Power

NYX lipstick swatches
Swatches: Thalia and Power

NYX eye shadow 2
Colour: Blue Marine

NYX eyeshadow swatch
Swatch: Blue Marine
Next up my Vasanti Soft Finish Matte Lipsticks.
Vasanti Matte
Colours: Tunisia, Canada, USA

Vasanti Swatches 1
Swatches: Tunisia, Canada, USA
My favorite (so far) eye shadow primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I did a review of this product over at Delectably Chic.
At the time of my purchases, ebeauty.ca was offering a promotion – $180 worth of products for $45.

The inside of the clutch has a bunch of compartments – great for keeping organized

For those of you that are unfamiliar, ebeauty.ca is a fairly new online shopping destination in Canada offering products from often hard to find Brands as well as many Canadian companies.

My shopping experience with them was wonderful and extremely easy.  I really love the look of the website, it’s easy to navigate and add things to your cart.  I like that you can shop per category or by brand.  They always seem to have great promotions going on like the the one I received above and right now they have free shipping on all orders over $25 (normally it’s $75) – this is EXTREMELY reasonable especially when purchasing cosmetics and skincare!  Even $75 minimum is pretty good if you ask me.

The only thing I found a bit strange with my order was that with each brand I ordered from I received a separate email. So I received four separate confirmation and tracking emails for each brand.  Each brand and the bonus items were also shipped individually so I ended up getting my order in 5 separate deliveries.  I think the products are coming from different locations.  Also when some of my products arrived they came from The Shopping Channel  which had me totally confused since I hadn’t ordered from them!  But turns out ebeauty.ca and The Shopping Channel have the same address, so I’m assuming they are associated 😉
The customer service is FANTASTIC.  My Too Faced Shadow Insurance actually took a really long time to arrive – I was in constant correspondence with ebeauty.ca ‘s customer service and we had eventually deemed it lost and they reimbursed me right away.  A couple weeks after this it mysteriously arrived in the mail!  They were really quick to respond to me on both email and twitter which I loved (I have this thing – I like emails to be responded to within 24 hours!)
Anyway, sorry for the late and long post, but I thought it was worth writing about!  Let me know if you’ve ever shopped there before or if there are any brands available on the site that are difficult to get in Canada!
ebeauty.ca can also be found on twitter and on Facebook.

DONT ORDER FROM THEM. I placed an order of mustela body creams for my son. I placed the order on Sept 17, 2012 and to this date Oct 18,2012 have not received them yet. When I placed the order the item was in stock. I am not getting a straight answer from them nor are they trying to make up for their mistake by resending the items. This place seems like a scam. So beware and do not purchase from them.

Great post! I love juice beauty as well!!! I have to say that I just bought some consonant and saw that is contained phenoxyethanol (toxic, chemical, ether). Not happy about that I must say! Blue marine is GORGEOUS on your skin. 🙂

Do not order from ebeauty.ca. I placed an order with them and waited almost 3 weeks for it, so I emailed the customer service to have them look into the order. They emailed me back saying they don’t have any more inventory for the item I ordered, apologized and basically told me to go order something else from them. Really!!!

I agree with B below. I have made a return to ebeauty. It has been more than a month and I still have not received my refund. I called today. The customer service rep was rude. Canada post clearly showed that it was delivered to them. She then accused me of having sent it to the wrong place. I said it was impossible because I used the return labels provided. I asked to speak to someone else. I was polite and courteous. I said it was not her; I just needed a second opinion. She disappeared from the line (some music came on). I was not sure what was happening. She eventually came back and said someone will call me back after 3 pm. I did not get any phone calls. I tried calling the number provided in a letter included with my products – customer care at the Shopping Channel. They refused to help and referred me back to ebeauty even though this was the number provided with my ebeauty products. I do not recommend ordering from ebeauty because there were no guarantee and full refund as promised.

I would definitely not recommend them at all. My daughter ordered stuff from them for a while now, every time she checked the status, it says it’s in the warehouse, but she still hasn’t received it. Emailed them and never get any response.

NOVEMBER 24, 2011 I placed and order on ebeauty.ca. It was my first time on this website and I will not recommend this website to anyone. They have a shipping address that is not mine on there, one item was missing and no note or email to tell me. There was also no confirmation that I placed this order. The only good thing is that the makeup came in good condition. Ebeauty tells me that an email was sent to my email address but there is none what so ever.

I have recently made my first purchase there and had to return the product cause it just didn’t work for me. It’s been almost 2 months and I still have not received my refund. I have contacted them after tracking my package seeing that it had arrived back to them and they said they will put in a request to give me a refund but I still haven’t seen an email or any customer service support so who knows when I will get my money back. I would not shop here again. I’d rather go to Sephora which has more selection, similar prices and easier returns!

Celebrating our best boy’s birthday with a custom Celebrating our best boy’s birthday with a custom sensitive-tummy-approved cake from @jujulet! Cause life’s too short not to mark special occasions 🐶❤️🎂

I can’t believe @guster_dog is already 6! 😭❤️❤️

The cake is made of pumpkin, sweet potato, spinach, and carrot. The “frosting” is potato cream mixed with natural colorings. Gluten-free and lactose-free with lots of healthy veggies means Guster can enjoy his special treat and we don’t have to worry about his health. 🥳

The cake is truly a work of art, and - as you can see - Guster definitely approves of the taste! He ate the sculpture of himself so fast that we didn’t even catch it on camera! 🙈

Would you get a cake for your pet?

Hi! 👋🏼 I’m still here! I’m sorry I haven’t posted Hi! 👋🏼 I’m still here! I’m sorry I haven’t posted much. I’m finding it a bit hard, tbh. 🫤

I’m figuring out what the next phase of #TorontoBeautyReviews looks like and healing from an injury, while my 9-5 has lately been more like 7-7, so I’m filling my off hours with family, dance, food, and books. Finding joy and peace where I can in an intense world. ❤️

I still try out lots of products and I do occasionally paint my face 🙃. I’m just not as interested in the grind of daily posts just for the sake of staying relevant anymore. Which has meant that I’m not on as many PR lists as I used to be. Which means that I don’t have as much new stuff to review. It’s a cycle.

Things are shifting, which is tough sometimes. But it’s ok - so am I. 😊
