NEWLY ACQUIRED: Gap and Old Navy purchases

Posted on November 23, 2012 by Elaine

The Gap and Old Navy have been really good to me lately! I went on a bit of a spree as I needed to stock up on basics (layer tanks, long sleeved tees etc) but I found a couple of fun(er) basics that I have already worn quite a bit. I’ve become an almost exclusive online shopper since the shipping and return policy for The Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic is so great. PLUS I ordered through ebates.ca and at the time they were offering 20.0% cash back!

The first is this crew neck sweater (layered over a v-neck tank that was also purchased). I love this sweater! I’ve been wanted a yellow sweater for sometime now and this is just the perfect basic for me to wear on its own, under a blazer, with a scarf etc.  Weird thing is, it’s disappeared off the Canadian site to I linked to the US site below.

I had been on the hunt for a denim jacket for layering. Even though we’re pretty much past Fall a denim jacket is such a great basic to have. Normally I would look for something more fitted in the waist (this is an XS petite) and this jacket is a bit boxy but I actually don’t mind the boxy-ness of it since it’s cropped. I like it but I’m still deciding if I can find something better. Again, vanished from the Canadian site. Link to the US site is found below.

Also from Old Navy (I forgot to take pictures) was a sequined tank in black. So many colours and gorgeous striped versions too!

My favorite purchases were from the Gap. I got the slim cropped pants in french pink and bright red (in 00 regular) which are actually the prefect length for me to wear with nice flats or heels. I know they’re kind of bright for this time of year but I love them!

When I got these I loved the fit and feel of them so much I actually went and ordered them in black (and now they’re on sale!).
So nothing too exciting I guess but I was really happy with these purchases. The only item that’s potentially going back is the denim jacket. Still debating though!
Do you shop at the Gap and Old Navy often? And do you prefer online shopping or in store shopping?

(When I drafted this I forgot about Black Friday deals – Gap has a Black Friday sale for 60% off everything! Happy shopping!)

  • Happy Gotcha Day to the cutest, most annoying fur baby there ever was. Two years feels like it’s gone by in an instant, and yet I can hardly remember what life was like before you came into our lives. Here’s to many more years of couch snuggles, hikes, vegan wheat-free treats, playdates with your bestie @ripley_the_terrier, and sleepovers with @llabc.ca when Adam & I need a break We love you, Goose. : First pic is by the insanely talented @alexa.studios —————————————————————————— #gotchaday #torontodogs #dogstagram #torontowedding #distillerydistrict #mytbrfave #torontobeautyreviews #tbrcontributors

  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small
